Anti-inflammatory diet: The role of nutrition and exercise in inflammatory diseases

What do osteoarthritis, insulin resistance, leaky gut and atherosclerosis have in common?

They all share the same silent driver: chronic low-grade inflammation. The good news: diet and daily physical activity are the two most powerful intervention points you can use to fight it.

Home treatment for thumb carpometacarpal (CMC‑I) osteoarthritis

The saddle joint osteoarthritis — professionally called rhizarthrosis or CMC‑I osteoarthritis — is a degenerative condition of the joint at the base of the thumb. This joint lies between the carpal bone called the trapezium and the first metacarpal, and gets its name from its saddle‑like articular surfaces: the two bone ends sit on each other like a saddle on a horse’s back. This unique shape allows you to oppose your thumb to the other fingers — referred to in medical terms as opposition.

Muscle stimulation and physiotherapy in disc herniation rehabilitation

If you have a disc herniation, you have probably been told: “Exercise regularly, and you'll improve.” That's true — but only partly. Physiotherapy is fundamentally important and necessary, but in a significant number of cases it alone is not sufficient.

In this article you can read some important information about how you can help yourself.

Soft laser treatment for arthritis – Home arthritis therapy

Joint inflammation, or arthritis, is one of the most common musculoskeletal conditions. If it affects you, you know how agonizing the pain, stiffness and swelling can be. Anti-inflammatory drugs can help, but long-term use may come with side effects. What if there were a side-effect-free method you could use at home to support your recovery? Soft laser therapy – also known as photobiomodulation – may offer exactly that.

Soft laser for treating heel pain – Heel spur, plantar fasciitis

You get out of bed in the morning, and as soon as you put your foot on the floor, a sharp, stabbing pain shoots into your heel. It feels like stepping on a pin cushion. After a few steps it eases a little, but it returns again and again during the day. If this sounds familiar, you likely have plantar fasciitis or a heel spur — and low-level laser therapy can help.

Rehabilitation of Peroneal Nerve Palsy

Rehabilitation of Peroneal Nerve Palsy

Peroneal nerve palsy can result from damage to either the central or peripheral nervous system, although peripheral causes are more frequent. The condition primarily affects the common peroneal nerve (nervus peroneus communis), which branches from the sciatic nerve and runs around the head of the fibula, making it particularly vulnerable due to its superficial position and anatomical course.

Fibromyalgia causes, symptoms and treatment

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that can affect everyday life. It is a complex health issue that primarily involves the muscles and connective tissues. You may experience widespread pain, fatigue and many other symptoms. This is a real, physical condition—not an imagined illness—even if medical tests often fail to show a clear physical abnormality.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome – What You Need to Know About Prevention and Treatment

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common musculoskeletal condition today that can significantly affect daily life and work. It occurs because the nerve running through an anatomical tunnel in the wrist becomes compressed. The so-called carpal tunnel houses the median nerve (nervus medianus), bordered by muscles, ligaments and bones. When inflammation or swelling develops in this tight space, the nerve is compressed, causing various symptoms in the affected areas.

Supporting Implant Integration with Magnetic Therapy

If you've undergone an orthopedic operation (hip or knee prosthesis, screws, plates) or a dental implant, you surely know how important proper healing is. The success of an implant depends on how well your body can “accept” the foreign object — this process is called osseointegration, that is, incorporation into the bone.

ALS disease and functional muscle stimulation (FES)

ALS disease and functional muscle stimulation (FES)

ALS (full name: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a slowly progressing disease caused by the gradual destruction of the nerve cells (motor nerves) that innervate the voluntarily controlled muscles. The disease typically begins in the limb muscles distant from the trunk and gradually spreads toward the center. Muscle strength decreases, muscles begin to waste away (atrophy) and eventually paralysis develops. As a consequence, patients lose mobility as well as urinary and fecal continence, and they experience increasing muscle stiffness (spasticity), contractures (shortening of the tendons) and pain arising from these problems. Progression of muscle weakness largely determines quality of life.
