AMI Pro Neuromuscular Stimulator

The device is only available to medical businesses, neurorehabilitation therapists, specialist clinics, or hospitals, not to private individuals. Electrical therapy for dysphagia is performed under the supervision of the attending physician, using the trained methods and programs.

The AMI Pro is a non-invasive neuromuscular electrical stimulation system (NMES). It has been developed considering the main scientific evidence currently available in the scientific literature.

The Ami Pro contains various stimulation programs aimed at treating motor, sensorimotor, and sensory swallowing disorders, recommended with different parameters to enable the selection of the most appropriate work cycle.

It also includes various facial rehabilitation programs and adjustable programs to adapt to the therapeutic needs of the professional.

The Ami Pro features the special "Action Now" function, which only allows stimulation when the therapist or patient wishes. By pressing the "Action now" button on the device, muscle activation can be coordinated with the patient's voluntary swallowing, making it a biofeedback system in every respect.

INDICATIONS

Recommended for treatments performed on the neck and front facial area. It can be used to prevent swallowing atrophy and rehabilitate the muscles involved in swallowing for any etiology of dysphagia (swallowing difficulty), except mechanical causes that may require surgery (e.g. obstructive tumors).

Some causes of dysphagia for which it may be applied include: neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, respiratory diseases with swallowing complications, iatrogenic conditions, radiation fibrosis/stenosis, stroke, intubation or anoxic injuries, birth-related, head or neck trauma.

The device is intended to re-educate the muscles involved in swallowing using surface electrodes applying biphasic, symmetric, rectangular wave electrical stimulation.

Use of the device is strictly limited to authorized medical or healthcare personnel (physiotherapists, speech therapists). Home use is only permitted under a physician’s instruction and guidance.

PROGRAMS

Dysphagia 1

3 programs: parameters are fixed and cannot be changed.

Dysphagia 2

36 programs: fixed and non-adjustable parameters, divided into different types of work cycles (work-rest ratios).

Dysphagia 3

5 programs: Includes Action Now programs. These programs initiate each contraction only if the user holds down the * button. ACTION NOW programs are especially useful because they can associate and synchronize electrical stimulation with voluntary action.

Adjustable

36 programs: programs with adjustable parameters including work cycle (work-rest ratio), treatment duration (30-45-60 minutes), pulse width, frequency, and total duration.

Facial treatment

20 programs: a total of 20 facial programs divided into Standard, Advanced, and Action Now.
