The Aerobika OPEP is an excellent drug-free device designed for home use, applied in the treatment of COPD and the prevention of flare-ups.
The patient must breathe in and out through the device. The device maintains a positive end-expiratory pressure and also creates oscillation (air vibration), which helps loosen and remove the sticky mucus lining the airways. Oscillation has been used for decades in clinical ventilators, meaning the clinical effect of vibration has long been known.
