Plus 53 general sport programs (warm-up, maximal strength development, endurance, explosive power, capillarization, active recovery), and 7 ActionNow programs for combined exercise and stimulation. Important to know: EMS does not replace training – it complements it. Your fitness still depends on your sport. If you have joint inflammation or tendinitis The Premium 400’s 23 microcurrent programs are among the richest in the Globus family. Dedicated programs: Achilles tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, rotator cuff inflammation, acromioclavicular periarthritis, patellar tendon inflammation, joint pain, edema. Microcurrent is so gentle you typically don’t feel it – therefore suitable around inflamed, sensitive areas. Details: Microcurrent main pillar. Important to know: effects appear after 2–4 weeks of regular treatment. If you have a hard-to-heal wound (leg ulcer, chronic wound) The Premium 400’s microcurrent package provides notable strength in chronic wound treatment – a specific leg ulcer program is available. Microcurrent can provide meaningful support to the healing process alongside standard wound care. Important to know: wound care is a specialist task – discuss starting treatment with your GP or wound care specialist. The Premium 400 is one of the most frequently recommended home devices in microcurrent-focused articles. Details: Leg ulcer treatment. If you have chronic low back, neck or shoulder pain 12 TENS programs are available for specific complaints: chronic lumbago, neck pain, shoulder-blade syndrome, trapezius pain, muscle pain, menstrual pain, plus modulated and endorphin TENS. Important to know: if pain relief is your PRIMARY goal and you don’t do sports, consider the Genesy 300 Pro (20 TENS programs), Genesy 600 (20 TENS + denervated), or the Genesy 1500 (33 TENS + IF + Kotz) – these come with stronger TENS packages. Details: TENS main pillar. If you had surgery and want to continue rehabilitation at home 6 rehabilitation programs are available: post-ACL reconstruction recovery, shoulder dislocation, quadriceps atrophy (treatment of thigh extensor muscle wasting), and incontinence programs (stress, urge, mixed). The 18 sequential stimulation (3S) programs support neurorehabilitation, edema treatment and regeneration improvement. Important to know: consult your treating physician about the start time and electrode placement before post-surgical use. If you have body-shaping or beauty goals 58 fitness and body-shaping programs: shaping, firming, toning, revitalizing, supporting collagen production, mass gain, cutting, aerobic and anaerobic training, cramp prevention. Plus 36 dedicated beauty programs: face-lifting effect, improving skin tone, breast firming and shaping, slimming, fat reduction, edema reduction (including post-pregnancy tightening and edema reduction). Important to know: beauty programs are complementary – movement, proper nutrition and lifestyle remain the main pillars for fitness and posture. If you do neurorehabilitation or edema treatment after stroke The Premium 400’s 18 sequential stimulation (3S) programs – this is a particular strength! – support neurorehabilitation, edema treatment and regeneration improvement. FES (functional electrical stimulation) programs also help post-stroke rehabilitation. Important to know: the Premium 400 DOES NOT include a denervated muscle program (for peripheral nerve injury treatment). If needed, consider the Genesy 600 or Genesy 1500. If you want to deliver active ingredient deeper than rubbing (iontophoresis) The iontophoresis program (channel 1) allows you to deliver an anti-inflammatory, anesthetic or vinegar-based preparation under the skin – deeper than a simple cream reaches. Typical use: tennis elbow, heel spur, sports injuries. The iontophoresis sponge insert is sold separately (not included in the package). Important to know: choosing the active ingredient is a medical task – consult your treating physician or pharmacist. Details: Iontophoresis main pillar. How to use the Premium 400 at home 1 Turn on the device After switching on, select your user profile. The device remembers your last 10 used programs and your Favorites. 2 Choose the program matching your goal From the Hungarian menu choose: for pain (TENS), wound healing (microcurrent), sport preparation (sport or special sport), body shaping (fitness), beauty. The device automatically sets the appropriate current type and parameters. 3 Apply the electrodes Place the adhesive electrodes included in the package around the painful area, muscle or treatment zone according to the user manual. The device senses if an electrode is not adhering properly – in that case it stops the current. 4 Set to a comfortable level Start the program and slowly increase intensity with the intensity button. For TENS up to a pleasant tingling, for EMS a noticeable (but pain-free) muscle contraction. Microcurrent is typically not felt – this is normal. If you feel pain, reduce immediately. 5 Rest or exercise during treatment TENS/microcurrent/beauty: can be used sitting or lying down, e.g. while watching TV. Sport / EMS training: can be used during active movement (ActionNow). A session typically lasts 15–60 minutes. The device stops automatically at the end. 6 Save your favorites Save well-working programs in Favorites (15 programs per user) – next time you can start them with one button. If your physiotherapist / coach suggested custom settings, you can save them as your own program (Easy Program). What treatment methods are included and what are they for? The Premium 400 includes five different electrotherapy methods. Here are the most important differences from a patient’s perspective: TENS – for pain relief: a noticeable tingling on the skin that reduces the sensation of pain during treatment. 12 complaint-specific programs. Details: TENS. EMS / NMES – for muscle strengthening, sport recovery, beauty: causes visible muscle contractions – suitable for sport, fitness, body shaping and beauty. Details: EMS. Microcurrent (MENS / MCR) – for wound healing, inflammation reduction, collagen production: so gentle you won’t feel it. The Premium 400 contains one of the richest microcurrent packages in the Globus family (23 programs). Details: Microcurrent. FES – for relearning movement after stroke: supports muscle activation in central paralysis. Recommended only under specialist supervision. Iontophoresis – for delivering anti-inflammatory agents: DC assists a substance (e.g. diclofenac, acetic acid) to reach deeper under the skin. Typical uses: tennis elbow, heel spur. Details: Iontophoresis. Important to know: the Premium 400 is the sport- and beauty-focused model, therefore: NO denervated muscle program – for peripheral paralysis treatment choose the Genesy 600 or Genesy 1500. NO Kotz (Russian) stimulation – this is specific to Genesy 1500 / 3000. NO Interferential (IF) current – also specific to Genesy 1500 / 3000. Fewer TENS programs (12 vs 20–33 on Genesy models) – if your main goal is TENS-focused pain relief, consider Genesy 300 Pro / 600 / 1500. If you are unsure which method fits your complaint or goal, read my decision-support guide: Which electrotherapy is for what. Video guides – see how to use it The four video guides apply to all 4-channel Globus devices (Premium 400, Genesy 300 Pro / 600 / 1500 / 3000). Before starting your first treatment, it is worth watching all of them – about 15 minutes total. 1. video – Device parts Learn where the connectors are, which cable is for what (4 colored cables for general programs, 2 grey for microcurrent and iontophoresis), and how the display looks. 2. video – Battery management How to charge, when to replace, what the display indicates. Important: for safety, a treatment ONLY starts from battery – it cannot be operated while connected to mains charger (the device will not switch on). 3. video – Using the menu Step by step: how to navigate the Hungarian menu, choose a program for your complaint, set intensity and modify settings during treatment. 4. video – Useful extra features Saving favorites, setting profiles, locking programs, treating two patients at once (2+2 mode), ActionNow instant-start training programs. For optimal battery capacity check every 6 months; if the device is unused for more than 3 months, recharge before use. Clean the device with a damp, clean cloth – for disinfection a diluted sodium hypochlorite solution is appropriate (detailed in the user manual). Accessories available separately – if you have special needs Iontophoresis sponge insert (60 × 85 mm – for drug delivery), facial electrodes (for cosmetic programs), motor point probe (for more precise electrode placement), Y-cables – these accessories are sold separately if needed for your use. Discuss with your physiotherapist or treating physician whether any are necessary for your situation. Frequently asked questions before purchase Is it safe with a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator? Generally no. Electrotherapy is contraindicated with pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD), neural stimulator or hearing implant – only with cardiologist / arrhythmologist permission. Details in the article electrical treatment and implants. Can I use it at home without help? Yes, the Premium 400 is optimized for home use – compact size, Hungarian menu, factory complaint/goal-specific programs. Before the first treatment consult your treating physician, physiotherapist or coach about which program suits your specific situation. For new, worsening or unknown complaints always seek medical consultation first. What’s the difference between the Premium 400 and the Genesy 300 Pro? (same price!) The two devices share the same physical form (160 × 99 × 35.4 mm, 404 g), the same price (157 545 Ft), and the same 5 current types (TENS, EMS, MENS, FES, iontophoresis). But their program profiles are completely different: Premium 400: sport- and beauty-focused. More microcurrent (23 vs 12), more sport programs (53 vs 22), 44 dedicated sport programs (running, cross-country skiing, combat, tennis, football, cycling), 36 beauty programs, 58 fitness, 18 sequential neurorehab. Genesy 300 Pro: general entry model. More TENS programs (20 vs 12), for more general use. No sport-specific focus or expanded beauty package. If you do sports / are active / have beauty goals: Premium 400. If your primary goal is pain relief (more TENS programs): Genesy 300 Pro. Both are good choices – just different profiles. How long until I feel the effect? Depends on the method. TENS: pain relief can be felt immediately during treatment. EMS (muscle strengthening): after 4–6 weeks of regular training. Microcurrent (wound healing, joint inflammation): noticeable change after 2–4 weeks. Iontophoresis: 3–6 weeks. Beauty programs: 4–8 weeks of regular use. Chronic complaints require patience – it’s not like a painkiller pill. Do sport-specific programs really differ from each other? Yes, the 44 special sport programs are optimized for the specifics of each sport (running, cross-country skiing, combat sports, tennis, football, cycling): preparation, injury prevention and rehabilitation. For runners, emphasis is on lower limb muscles (quadriceps, shin, calf); for combat sports the upper body and core; for cyclists the hamstring + calf combination. Note: programs complement your training, they don’t replace it. Coaching supervision and a classic training plan remain primary. Do beauty programs really improve skin condition? Beauty EMS programs stimulate muscle tissue metabolism and may support collagen production. The 36 dedicated programs (face-lifting effect, skin tone, breast firming, slimming, fat reduction) are a complementary technology to classic beauty routines. Important to know: main factors remain nutrition, exercise, hydration and UV protection. Don’t expect miracles from an electrotherapy device. Can it replace my training or physiotherapy? No. Electrotherapy is a supplement, not an alternative. EMS programs build muscle but do not replace relearning movement patterns, coordination, breathing technique and sport-specific skills. The most effective package is: training + Premium 400 electrotherapy + physiotherapy (if needed). Can I use it on two people or two painful areas at once? Yes, that’s the 2+2 mode. The 4 channels are split into two groups: channels 1–2 run one program, 3–4 run another. This allows parallel treatment of two family members, two painful areas, or two muscle groups. Microcurrent and iontophoresis are exceptions – these programs do not run in 2+2 mode.
