Premium 400: multifunction electrotherapy device with TENS | EMS | MENS | MCR | FES | Iontophoresis programs.
The device's hundreds of programs can help with countless issues by treating, improving, healing, or preventing conditions.
The device is multifunctional, offering several modes of electrical treatment, each applicable to different problems.
TENS, i.e., transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, is mainly for relieving musculoskeletal pain. It can also be used for menstrual pain and to a lesser extent, cancer pain relief.
Electrical muscle stimulation is referred to as EMS or NMES in medical practice. It's used for muscle-related issues such as muscle stiffness, atrophy, slowing strength and mass loss, improving circulation, and reducing muscle pain. It's beneficial before musculoskeletal surgeries to improve outcomes and indispensable during rehabilitation.
FES, or functional electrical stimulation, is usually noted as a standalone treatment mode. It's also muscle stimulation performed to regain some lost abilities.
After central paralysis, muscles partly regain mobility after a few days (if fortunate) but become weak and clumsy. Muscle stimulation to regain strength and relearn movement is functional stimulation.
Microcurrent is an extremely mild current (for example, TENS or muscle stimulation currents are a thousand times stronger).
Microcurrent can be used for pain relief (then called MENS—microcurrent nerve stimulation) or healing (then called MCR).
Microcurrent accelerates healing of inflammatory processes (including tendinitis, arthritis, arthrosis, etc.). It reduces edema, making it useful in acute treatment of herniated discs, lumbago, sciatica, and other radicular symptoms. It speeds injury, wound, and muscle tear healing.
Microcurrent stimulates collagen production and thus wound and scar healing, useful in beauty care for restoring skin elasticity and wrinkle treatment.
Iontophoresis is beneficial for treating joint inflammation and sports injuries. It enables delivering a (water-soluble, electrically charged) drug directly through the skin to the affected area, avoiding the digestive system. For example, after an ankle injury, oral drugs spread throughout the body with minimal amounts reaching the ankle. Iontophoresis helps direct a higher dose to the ankle and less to other parts.

Details
Electrotherapy treatments (TENS, EMS, MENS, FES, ETS, CES, microcurrent, iontophoresis, denervated, selective currents, Kotz, interferential, etc.) are safe and side-effect free treatment methods.
Only a few conditions are contraindications.
Current consensus: Electrotherapy treatments are STRICTLY PROHIBITED for patients with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators. Other conditions are not exclusionary but require benefits vs. risks consideration by the attending physician.
If unsure about applicability, read Dr. Zsolt Zátrok’s article on the Lifetime Healthy blog. Click here.
It's a common belief that electrotherapy devices should not be used with metal implants, prosthesis, bone plates, screws. This is outdated. Read Dr. Zsolt Zátrok’s article about implants and electrotherapy.
