PeriProbe ANA-BFT Anal Balloon Probe for Manometric Biofeedback

The PeriProbe ANA-BFT / ABFT is an anal balloon probe for manometric, i.e. pressure-based biofeedback. It is intended for rectal use, primarily to assess the function of the anal sphincter, to monitor rehabilitation for fecal incontinence, and to provide feedback on the effectiveness of sphincter-strengthening exercises.

This probe is not an electrostimulation electrode. It does not stimulate or deliver current; instead it transmits pressure changes resulting from squeezing forces to the device. For rectal use only, compatible only with pressure-biofeedback devices for assessment and sphincter-strengthening exercises; it does not stimulate.

Because it is not an electrostimulation electrode probe, it does not have a gold-plated electrode surface like the PeriSphera or the electric PeriProbe models. From the perspective of metal allergies this is straightforward: there is no metal electrode contacting the mucosa, but for that same reason it is not suitable for electrostimulation.

Compatible devices: evoStim P, and other pressure-biofeedback devices suitable for manometric measurement.
