Do painful knees, stubborn tendon complaints or slowly recovering sports injuries bother you?

The Personal-Laser L400 is a high power-density soft-laser designed for focused point treatment. With 400 mW it delivers 4 Joules of energy in just 10 seconds. This makes treatments generally very short, even for larger joints usually taking only a few minutes.

Expert recommendation Our medical expert says

“The key advantage of the Personal-Laser L400 is not only its 400 mW output but that it concentrates this power on a small area. This enables fast, precise point treatments. I recommend it for home users dealing with small joints (hand, foot), tendons (carpal tunnel, Achilles or patellar tendon) problems. Regular laser therapy can complement many joint, tendon or soft-tissue treatment plans.”

What complaints can it be used for?

Soft-laser treatment can be applied to precisely identified points around the painful joint. For knee osteoarthritis, for example, you should treat several points around the joint space rather than a single location.

The small treatment area of the Personal-Laser L400 helps precise work, and the rapid energy delivery shortens multi-point treatments.

Detailed guide for knee pain treatment →

Tendons and insertion points often cause complaints that are localized to a small area. Examples include the Achilles tendon, shoulder tendons, the outer or inner side of the elbow, and other overload-related tendon problems.

The point-like treatment head advantage is that energy can be directed straight to the selected area. Treatment should always be combined with offloading, gradual loading and physiotherapy when needed.

Soft-laser for tendinopathy →

Morning first-step heel pain often relates to overload of the plantar fascia. In such cases treat not only the most painful point but multiple points along the heel and fascia.

Soft-laser does not remove a bony heel spur. The aim is to complementarily treat irritation and pain in the surrounding soft tissues.

For muscle strains, ligament or tendon irritation, soft-laser can be part of the rehabilitation plan. The precise treatment head is useful on smaller, well-defined areas.

For acute injuries, first rule out fracture, complete rupture or other conditions requiring medical care. The laser does not replace diagnosis, appropriate offloading or a graded rehabilitation program.

Soft-laser for sports injuries →

For numbness, night hand pain or complaints along a nerve path, the underlying cause must be clarified first. Chronic nerve compression, diabetes, spine-related problems and other conditions may require different treatments.

With an appropriate diagnosis, soft-laser can be used as a complementary treatment for tissues around the nerve and the affected segment.

Why choose the Personal-Laser L400?

Short treatment time

4 Joules in 10 seconds

The 400 mW continuous output provides rapid energy delivery. You don't need to hold the device rigidly on a single point for minutes: an audible signal every 10 seconds helps track the delivered dose.

Targeted point treatment

1 cm² treatment area

The treatment head delivers energy to a well-defined area. This is especially practical for joint gaps, tendons, insertion points and small painful regions.

808 nanometer infrared diode laser

808 nm infrared diode laser

The 808 nm wavelength is widely used in musculoskeletal photobiomodulation treatments. The light is invisible and the treatment is painless.

Compact, portable device

Compact and easy to carry

The device weighs only 42 grams and is 76 mm long. It runs on a rechargeable battery, fits in a carrying case and is handy at home or while traveling.

Is the Personal-Laser L400 right for you?

May be a good choice if you want to regularly treat a well-defined joint, tendon, insertion point or painful area and short treatment time is important to you.
Particularly practical if you need to treat several points in succession, for example around the knee, shoulder, elbow or heel.
Not the most practical tool if you want to treat a very large, diffuse body area at once. The Personal-Laser L400 is primarily designed for precise point treatments.
Important: Because of the high power density, wearing the supplied laser protective goggles is mandatory. This does not complicate treatment but the safety rule must be observed every time.

How to use in four simple steps

1

Put on the supplied protective goggles

The Personal-Laser L400 is a class 3B laser device. Direct exposure of the eyes to the laser beam is dangerous, therefore wearing the protective goggles is mandatory for every treatment.

2

Mark the treatment points

Do not shine the painful area at random. Use the treatment guide specific to the complaint and determine in advance which points you will treat.

3

Place the treatment head directly on the skin

Turn on the device and hold it steadily on the selected point. The device beeps every 10 seconds; this corresponds to 4 Joules of delivered energy.

4

Proceed through the treatment plan points

Required dose, number of points and treatment frequency depend on the complaint. Do not automatically use the same time on every body area. Follow the user manual and the treatment recommendation for the specific problem.

Frequently asked questions

The device concentrates the laser beam energy on a small area and therefore belongs to laser class 3B. Direct or reflected beam exposure to the eye can be harmful. Appropriate protective goggles are included in the package and their use is mandatory during treatment.

The device delivers 4 Joules in 10 seconds. Total treatment time depends on how many points need to be treated and what dose is required for the specific problem. Treating a larger joint (e.g. knee) usually takes only a few minutes.

Photobiomodulation treatment is essentially painless and is not a thermal therapy. The 808 nm infrared light is not visible to the naked eye (the red light assists aiming to the correct point). The treatment head should be held steadily on the skin without pressure.

Higher power primarily shortens treatment time significantly. Therapeutic outcome is also influenced by correct application time, regularity and the severity of the treated condition. The Personal-Laser L400's advantage is mainly that it can deliver the required energy in a short time.

Individual response can vary widely. Some users feel changes after a few sessions, while chronic complaints may require regular treatment over several weeks. If symptoms worsen, new symptoms appear or there is no meaningful improvement, medical review is advised.

No. Soft-laser is an adjunctive treatment. For tendon and joint problems, load modification, physiotherapy, strengthening exercises and when necessary medical treatment remain fundamental.

Important information Important information

The Personal-Laser L400 is intended for adjunctive treatment. It does not replace diagnosis, physician-prescribed treatment, appropriate offloading, physiotherapy or rehabilitation.

Soft-laser is not a magic wand. The best results are usually achieved when treatment is applied as part of a multi-component therapeutic plan tailored to the cause of the complaint.

Product description is for informational purposes and does not constitute personalized medical advice. Referenced studies examined general applications of photobiomodulation; individual results may vary.

Scientific background

The effects of soft-laser treatment and photobiomodulation have been studied in several musculoskeletal conditions. For outcomes, appropriate wavelength, dose, treatment points and frequency are all important.
