The Champion: multifunctional electrotherapy device with TENS | EMS | MENS | MCR | FES | Iontophoresis programs
The device's hundreds of programs can help in treating, improving, healing, or preventing countless issues.
The device is multifunctional, providing several types of electrical therapies. Each treatment type addresses different problems.
TENS, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, is mainly suitable for relieving musculoskeletal pain. It can also be used for menstrual pain and, to a lesser extent, cancer pain relief.
Electrical muscle stimulation, abbreviated EMS or NMES in medical practice, is for muscle-related issues. Main applications include muscle stiffness, atrophy, slowing strength and muscle mass loss, improving blood circulation, and reducing muscle pain. It enhances surgical results when used preoperatively and is an essential complement during rehabilitation.
FES, or functional electrical stimulation, is considered an independent treatment mode. It is a form of muscle stimulation aimed at recovering lost functions.
After central paralysis, muscles may recover some movement within days but become weak and clumsy. FES helps regain strength and relearn movement.
Microcurrent is an extremely mild current (about a thousand times weaker than TENS or muscle stimulation currents).
Microcurrent can be used for pain relief (called MENS - microcurrent nerve stimulation) or healing (called MCR).
It accelerates healing of inflammatory processes like tendinitis, arthritis, arthrosis, etc. It reduces edema and is useful for acute treatments of herniated disc, lumbago, sciatica, and other radicular symptoms. It speeds healing of injuries, wounds, muscle tears, etc.
Microcurrent promotes collagen production aiding wound and scar healing, and is effective in beauty treatments for restoring skin elasticity and wrinkle treatment.
Iontophoresis is beneficial for treating joint inflammations and sports injuries. It delivers a (water-soluble, electrically charged) drug directly through the skin to the affected area, bypassing the digestive system. For example, oral medication for an ankle injury spreads throughout the body with only a minimal amount reaching the ankle, whereas iontophoresis delivers more drug to the ankle and less elsewhere.

Details
Electrotherapy treatments (TENS, EMS, MENS, FES, ETS, CES, microcurrent, iontophoresis, denervated, selective current, Kotz, interferential, etc.) are safe and free of side effects.
There are very few conditions classified as contraindications.
According to current stance, ANY electrotherapy treatment is FORBIDDEN for patients with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators. Other conditions are not exclusion factors, but the application should be weighed for pros and cons by the treating physician.
If uncertain about applicability, read Dr. Zsolt Zátrok's article on the Lifetime Healthy blog. Click here.
Common belief that electrotherapy devices cannot be used with metal implants, prostheses, bone plates, screws is outdated. Read Dr. Zsolt Zátrok's article about implants and electrical treatment. Click here.
