No. A pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD) or any electronic implant is an absolute contraindication – for all current types (TENS, EMS, MENS, FES, iontophoresis). Even extremely mild microcurrent can interfere with the implant’s operation. If you have such a device, do not use the device under any circumstances. Iontophoresis – can I use this on my own? Iontophoresis requires more caution than TENS or EMS because you deliver a drug-active substance under the skin.
