Treatment Types

This multifunction device offers several electrical therapy modes, each suited to different issues.

TENS

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is primarily used for alleviating musculoskeletal pain, and can also help reduce menstrual discomfort and, to a lesser extent, cancer pain.

EMS or NMES

EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) or NMES is used to treat muscle-related issues: muscle stiffness, atrophy, slowing strength and mass loss, improving blood flow and reducing muscle pain. Pre- and post-surgical EMS enhances outcomes and is an essential part of rehabilitation.

FES

FES (Functional Electrical Stimulation) is a form of muscle stimulation aimed at recovering lost functions. After central paralysis, muscles may regain movement but remain weak—FES helps restore strength and relearn movement.

MENS or MCR

Microcurrent therapy uses an extremely low current (about one-thousandth of TENS or EMS). MENS (Microcurrent Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is for pain relief, while MCR (Microcurrent Regeneration) promotes healing.

Microcurrents accelerate recovery from inflammation (e.g. tendonitis, arthritis, arthrosis), reduce edema—useful for herniated discs, lumbago, sciatica and other radicular symptoms—and speed healing of injuries, wounds and muscle tears.

Useful Functions

Contraindications

Electrotherapy treatments (TENS, EMS, MENS, FES, ETS, CES, microcurrent, iontophoresis, etc.) are safe and free of side effects. Very few conditions are contraindications.

Electrotherapy is strictly forbidden for patients with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators. Other conditions require evaluation of benefits and risks by a physician.
