Introduction to the SaltDome Salt Therapy Device
Home salt therapy is a natural and clinically proven effective way to complement medical treatment for respiratory allergies and many other lung diseases. Now I present a device that, in my opinion, provides the most effective home salt therapy: the SaltDome salt therapy device.
SaltDome Ultrasonic Salt Therapy Device
This is a compact device that uses ultrasound to atomize salt solution. You can turn it on at home, at work, in a kindergarten room—anywhere—and it immediately emits beneficial air akin to that found at seaside resorts or salt caves.
If you stay in the presence of this air long enough, you can soon enjoy the favorable effects expected from salty air.

- Preparation. First, connect the power adapter to the bottom of the device, and then plug it into the socket.
Place the device on a horizontal, hard surface. Do not place any fabric or sponge underneath, as this blocks the ventilation opening at the bottom and the device may overheat. - Preparing the Salt Solution. Pour 400 ml of water into a measuring container and add a scoop of salt. The scoop comes with the device. Stir until the salt dissolves.
Attention! One scoop of salt means about 1 gram. This might seem very little, but more is not necessary for health effects!
Excessive salt can cause deposits inside the device and even on nearby furniture. Too much salt can quickly damage the electronics.
Consider that at seaside resorts, you don't see salt in the air or thickly deposited on the streets—yet the effect is beneficial.
Use only as much salt as recommended (about 1 gram per 400 ml water). - Filling the Tank. Lift off the top part to reveal the water tank. Pour in the salt solution.
The side of the tank shows the maximum fill level.
At the bottom, you can see a small indentation. This is the ultrasonic cell that atomizes the salt solution. - Turning On. Replace the cover.
Turn on the device, and direct the outlet so it blows the mist towards where you stay.
The SaltDome can only be turned on if there is water in the tank—it cannot operate empty!
Salt Vaporization at Home
You can expect a significant health effect from salt therapy only if you stay in the salty mist for a long time. This means a minimum of 2-3 continuous hours.
Thus, if you are at work and your children are in school, the device running at home is completely useless. But if you are home and doing activities in the kitchen, it is pointless for the device to run in the bedroom.
Therefore, I recommend placing the salt therapy device on your bedside table or on a shelf above the bed and using it while you sleep.
At this time, you remain in one place for an extended period, and the salt vaporization gently envelops you in beneficial salty mist all night long.
The farther the device is placed from your head, the less salt reaches you, and thus the effect is smaller. The optimal distance is about 1 to 1.5 meters from your head with the device blowing salty air towards you!
SaltDome Device Control Buttons
- Mist Button. Pressing the Mist button powers on the device and sets the timer to 1 hour—a small LED lights up. When the set time expires, the device turns off.
Pressing the Mist button again sets operation to 3 or 6 hours, the durations at which the best effects are expected.
Pressing the Mist button a fourth time switches the device to continuous mist mode; the fifth press turns it off.
Holding down the Mist button turns the device off in any setting. - L/H (Low/High) Mist Output Button. On power on, the device is in low mist mode producing 10-15 ml of mist per hour. The high mode produces 15-20 ml/hour.
Allergic conditions generally benefit more from higher mist.
In cases of asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, or pneumonia, higher mist for treatments longer than 3 hours might lead to increased coughing, indicating too much mist. For these patients, use low mode and/or limit treatment times to 1-3 hours rather than 6 hours. - Light Button. The device has LED lighting.
A short press turns on the light, which then cycles through colors every few seconds.
To stop cycling, press the Light button again when your favorite color appears; this locks the chosen light color.
Pressing the Light button repeatedly cycles through colors.
Holding the Light button turns the light off.
You can also control the device using the small remote control included.
How to Know if It Works?
- Check Mist Formation. Lift the cover and press the Mist button. The device turns on and you can see the water bubbling and splashing above the ultrasonic cell at the bottom of the tank.
You can observe how the ultrasonic waves produce small amounts of salty mist. - Check the Fan. Replace the cover. You can feel a gentle airflow at the outlet.
The SaltDome is a salt therapy device; its goal is not just to increase humidity but to produce salty air. Often, the outgoing mist from the device is not visible! This depends on the room’s temperature and humidity. For example, in winter inside your home, you often cannot see your breath, but it is visible outdoors.
Again! The SaltDome is not a humidifier but a salt therapy device. However, during prolonged use, it may increase room humidity. - Check Water Consumption. The device emits a small amount of mist. In low mist mode, about 60-80 ml of water is consumed in 6 hours; the filled tank lasts 5-8 nights!
If water does not decrease in the tank, you may have overfilled it above the maximum mark.
Ultrasonic waves cannot penetrate too high a water column, so mist formation will be weak or absent.
