Dr. Zátrok Zsolt
orvos Our medical expert says

“Postoperative penile rehabilitation after prostate surgery is now part of modern aftercare. The key is to keep the cavernous bodies "trained" with regular increased blood flow while nerves and tissues regenerate – this aims to prevent tissue contraction and preserve erectile ability. The REHABI PVT gives you that training in your hands, operated manually, and can also be used in Peyronie’s disease. I outlined the penile rehabilitation protocol in a separate article.”

Realistic expectations
This is a rehabilitation training device, not an aid intended for intercourse – they are not the same. Expect changes after weeks to months of regular daily practice; do not expect a result from a single session. Start training as early as feasible after surgery, but the exact timing is set by your urologist.
This is not your device if
you are looking for a device to achieve and maintain an erection for intercourse — the Medintim Manual or the motorised Medintim Active systems are designed for that and include constriction rings. If an erection occurs but loses rigidity quickly, a simple ring such as Helpi Ring or Backup Ring may suffice.
Before you order
Approval from the treating urologist is required before beginning training, especially after recent surgery. This product page gives general guidance on frequency and the structure of training; your urologist will prescribe the protocol that suits you. Not for use in penile scarring, injury, active infection or neoplastic lesions; if you are on anticoagulant therapy, use only after medical consultation.

Who is the Rehabi PVT intended for?

Erectile function is often affected after prostate and other male pelvic surgeries. Maintaining adequate erections has a fundamental impact on quality of life. Research indicates that early vacuum training helps preserve erections in about 80% of patients and may also reduce the duration of postoperative incontinence. The earlier you start after surgery, the better the expected outcome.

Peyronie’s disease (induratio penis plastica) involves fibrous thickening and curvature of the penile connective tissue. Vacuum training can be beneficial as part of a treatment plan – always perform under urologic supervision.

Regular training supports arterial blood supply to the penis and surrounding tissues. The aim is to perform the exercise several times daily for a period of months, regularly repeated until symptoms improve, according to your treating physician’s guidance.

How does the training work? – Mechanism of action

The low pressure created inside the vacuum tube produces negative pressure around the penis, promoting blood inflow and erection. This regular hyperaemia acts as a "training" of the cavernous bodies: it improves tissue oxygenation, which research suggests may aid regeneration and help preserve penile length during the postoperative period.

In the vast majority of cases the vacuum method can produce an erection – exceptions include penile scarring, injury, infection, or neoplastic lesions. An important distinction from erection‑assisting devices is that the Rehabi PVT is specifically a rehabilitative "trainer" and does not include a constriction ring.

Frequently asked questions

The timing to start rehabilitation is always determined by the treating urologist, typically after catheter removal. Research shows that early, scheduled training leads to better outcomes – but begin only after consulting your physician.

If you are on anticoagulant therapy or have a bleeding disorder, use of a vacuum device requires increased caution due to the risk of bruising. In such cases consult your treating physician before use.

The Rehabi PVT is specifically a rehabilitation trainer: its goal is regular mobilization of the cavernous bodies for postoperative recovery, therefore it does not include a constriction ring. The Manual and the Active Erection System are intended to help achieve and maintain an erection for sexual intercourse and use constriction rings.

Rehabilitation is a regular process lasting several months – with multiple daily repetitions until symptoms improve. The exact schedule and duration are determined by your treating urologist.

The product falls into the category of intimate hygiene devices, therefore for health and hygiene reasons we accept returns only for unopened, sealed packaging (45/2014. Gov. Decree §29 (1) e)).

How to perform the training? Step by step

1

Placing the cylinder

Place the vacuum tube over the penis (slide the penis into the tube), then press the tube’s end firmly against the base of the penis.

2

Creating the vacuum

Repeatedly press the handle of the manual vacuum pump to gradually create a vacuum inside the tube. Blood flows into the penile cavernous bodies, producing an erection.

3

Maintaining the erection

Maintain this artificial rigidity for a few minutes by keeping the device pressed firmly to the base of the penis. The penis remains rigid inside the cylinder.

4

Regular repetition

The essence of rehabilitation is repeating the exercise several times daily. Training should be performed regularly for several months until symptoms subside, following the schedule set by your treating urologist.

What’s in the package?

  • 1 pc Rehabi PVT manual vacuum pump head (manual)
  • 1 pc Vacuum tube (200 mm length, 53 mm inner diameter)
  • 1 pc Carrying bag

The Rehabi PVT is a rehabilitation trainer, therefore – unlike erection‑assisting systems – it does not include a constriction ring, as the goal of training is not to maintain an erection but to regularly mobilize the cavernous bodies. For comfortable use, a lubricant gel is recommended and can be obtained as an accessory. Penis pump category →
