The Flex-Ion devices are designed to restore the strength of the fingers, hand and forearm muscles, and to improve their flexibility and coordination.
They are suitable for home use and for physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other rehabilitation professionals. Resistance is indicated by different colors:
You typically start with a lighter resistance and increase the level as your strength improves.
Use the Flex-Ion when muscle strength, range of motion or coordination has declined—such as after a stroke, spinal injury, surgery, accident or sports injury, or following immobilization from a fracture cast. For optimal recovery, consult a specialist (physiotherapist, occupational therapist, etc.) to determine the appropriate exercises and the correct resistance level. Starting with too high resistance can worsen symptoms.
Hold the device so your fingertips rest on the buttons and your thumb is placed on the lever. Bend your fingers simultaneously as if making a fist, pressing down the buttons. Move slowly and comfortably, hold for a few seconds, then release. Repeat 10–15 times.
Grip the Flex-Ion so your fingers meet your thumb across from them. Squeeze all together, pressing all buttons. Hold for a few seconds, then release. Repeat 10–15 times.
Place your index finger on one button and your thumb opposite it. Bend both to press the button. Move slowly, hold for a few seconds, then release. Repeat 10–15 times. Then switch to the middle finger and repeat with each finger.
Hold the device with your fingertips on the buttons and thumb opposite. Bend your fingers simultaneously, pressing the buttons. Move slowly, hold for a few seconds, then release. Repeat 10–15 times.

These are just a few examples! Your therapist can guide you through many other movements.
