Power Q-1000 Plus Set – XL Leg Pair and L Arm Cuffs

Accessories for the device can be purchased separately. Different types and sizes of cuffs are available. Select the cuff suitable for the body part to be treated.

Arm, leg, and waist cuffs are designed for their respective areas. Up to three cuffs can be connected to the device and - if health permits - can be used simultaneously.

The arm cuff is especially suitable for treating arm edema following breast surgery. Leg cuffs are available in lengths reaching to the knee or thigh. Waist cuffs are available as belt or pant types for treating upper thigh, hip, and lower abdomen.

Upper Limb Treatment

Lymphoedema on the arm usually occurs unilaterally - one arm cuff is usually sufficient. Athletes can use two arm cuffs to treat both arms simultaneously. Velcro fasteners hold the cuff under the underarm.

Arm Cuff

Before purchase, measure the arm at the wrist, forearm, and upper arm under the underarm. Choose M or L size.

M–L arm cuff: green line and italic font= length in cm; red line and bold font= circumference in cm.

Lower Limb Treatment

First, measure the ankle, calf, knee, and thigh. Knee-high and thigh-high cuffs (M–L–XL) are available. They can be extended with zipper inserts if necessary!

Mid-height Leg Cuff

Knee-high, specifically used for post-thrombotic syndrome treatment (treatment should start only 3-4 months after thrombosis). Only applicable for edema reaching foot or ankle; longer cuffs are needed for higher edema.

Thigh-high Leg Cuff

Ideal for lymphoedema, lipedema, varicose complaints, post-thrombotic states, and muscle regeneration. Usable individually or in pairs, extendable.

Trunk, Hip, and Abdomen Treatment

Pant and belt cuffs are available for upper thigh, hip, buttocks, and abdomen. These cuffs are necessary if lymphoedema reaches the thigh. Also suitable for cosmetic applications like cellulite and cavitation treatments.

Pant Cuff

Completely surrounds thighs, buttocks, and lower abdomen. Provides a wide size range (small–medium–maximum) with a three-row zipper. Built-in airhose; no need for additional airhose purchase.

Belt Cuff

Belt-shaped with Velcro fastener. Less effective than pant cuff but cheaper. Suitable for lymphoedema and aesthetic treatments (cellulite).

Cuff Combinations

Sometimes using multiple cuffs simultaneously is advisable. Contraindicated in heart failure, infarction, cardiomyopathy, or untreated hypertension.

Before beginning treatment, set the appropriate pressure and duration. Pressure can be adjusted between 20 and 300 mmHg, though most treatments only require 40-60 mmHg. Duration can be set between 0 and 30 minutes; start initial treatments at 20 minutes.

Safety Instructions and Contraindications

Follow safety instructions carefully. Do not use in acute deep vein thrombosis; external pressure may dislodge clots causing pulmonary embolism. Avoid use in skin infections such as erysipelas as massage may spread infection.

In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-infarction conditions, never exceed 40-60 mmHg, and use only one cuff at a time. Cancer patients should consult an oncologist before treatment; avoid direct treatment on active tumors.

Treatment Frequency and Duration

Frequency and duration should be individualized. Generally, shorter, more frequent sessions (20-30 minutes) are better than rare, longer sessions. Total daily treatment time should not exceed 120 minutes on the same area.

Expected Effects

Patience is key - lymphoedema cannot be eliminated in one session. Noticeable improvement usually appears after 5-10 consecutive treatments. Regular use improves blood and lymph circulation, reduces swelling, tension, and pain.

Pressure Adjustment Guidelines

Follow doctor or therapist instructions.

General guidelines:

• Low pressure (40-50 mmHg) is sufficient to improve circulation; high pressure can be harmful.
• Start first treatments at 40-50 mmHg for 20 minutes.
• Monitor and increase pressure if needed but do not exceed 60 mmHg.
• Prefer multiple 20-30 minute sessions over one long session, even up to 120 minutes per day.
• Be patient - evaluate changes after 3-4 treatments; avoid adjusting settings each session.

Risks of Incorrect Treatment

Use 40-60 mmHg for lymphatic and venous circulation support. Higher pressure can cause micro-injuries and tissue hardening. Aggressive treatment may worsen condition - avoid high pressure!

In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-infarction status, never exceed 40-50 mmHg and use only one cuff to avoid overloading the circulatory system. Do not treat active tumors directly but safe to treat areas distant from tumors, e.g., legs for thyroid cancer patients.
