Did you just receive a diagnosis of lymphedema or lipedema and are looking for a home device you can operate by pressing a button, without any complicated menus or programs? The Power Q-1000 Plus is the simplest home IPC model in the series. Reliable 4-chamber technology, intuitive operation, ideal as a first lymphatic massage device. What does the Power Q-1000 Plus offer? 4 chambers, classic technology The clinically well-researched 4-chamber IPC pattern sequentially "smooths" interstitial fluid upward toward the patent lymphatic pathways. It has proven effectiveness for maintenance treatment of stage 1–2 lymphedema and lipedema. Simple, intuitive user interface A few basic buttons: pressure, time, start. No need to learn programs or browse menus. Ideal for elderly or technology-averse users who want a quick, stress-free daily routine. Designed for home use Not a professional or clinical device — purely a home device that simplifies daily maintenance therapy. Robust, reliably durable, and easy to maintain. The most affordable entry in the series Within the Power Q family, this is the most cost-effective way to access IPC technology. An ideal first lymphatic massage device that provides a solid foundation for a long-term treatment routine. Who is the Power Q-1000 Plus recommended for? Newly diagnosed stage 1–2 lymphedema For those starting lymphedema treatment who want a daily 30–60 minute maintenance IPC protocol agreed with their treating physician. The 4-chamber technology is the classic choice for stages 1–2. Details in the Lymphedema – forms and causes guide. Lipedema stage 1 – start of maintenance therapy For stage 1 lipedema, the clinically validated baseline routine is compression garment + daily IPC + exercise. The Q-1000 Plus is the easiest to learn and maintain daily for patients beginning lipedema therapy. Details in the Lipedema (fat edema) symptoms and treatment guide. Elderly or technology-averse users Due to its simple interface, the Q-1000 Plus is particularly suitable for elderly or technology-averse users who are wary of complex electronic devices. The few-button layout is immediately understandable and creates no barriers during use. Venous complaints and heavy-leg sensation For chronic venous insufficiency, heavy-leg sensation, or varicose symptoms, the home IPC + compression stocking combination can relieve symptoms. The Q-1000 Plus at low pressures (20–40 mmHg) is ideal for this purpose. Details in the Varicose vein disease: causes, symptoms and treatment guide. Early maintenance care for post-breast-cancer arm swelling (BCRL) The Q-1000 Plus is a suitable entry device for prophylactic IPC protocols after breast cancer surgery. The Su 2025 meta-analysis recommends ≤40 mmHg and >2 weeks duration — the Q-1000 Plus easily fulfills these parameters. Details in the Radiation therapy and lymphedema guide. How to use the Power Q-1000 Plus? 1 Applying the cuff Place the 4-chamber leg, arm, or trunk cuff on the treated limb. The cuff should fit snugly but not tightly. 2 Connect to the control unit The air tube connects the cuff to the Q-1000 Plus control unit. One or two limbs can be treated in parallel. 3 Set pressure and time Basic functions are set with simple buttons: pressure (typically 30–50 mmHg for lymphedema) and treatment time (30–60 minutes). Start the first sessions at lower pressure. 4 Start the treatment Turn the treatment time knob to start the device and the 4 chambers will sequentially inflate in a wave pattern from distal to proximal. Perform the treatment while seated or lying comfortably, with the limb slightly elevated. 5 Wear compression garments after treatment To stabilize the IPC result, put on compression stockings or a sleeve immediately after treatment. This ensures the mobilized fluid does not return. What does the 4-chamber Power Q-1000 Plus affect? The 4-chamber technology is the most basic form of pneumatic compression, successfully used for decades in home treatment of lymphedema and lipedema. The chambers sequentially inflate and deflate with gradually increasing pressure, "smoothing" interstitial fluid upward along the treated limb. Using the Power Q-1000 Plus may contribute to: mobilization of protein-rich interstitial fluid in stage 1–2 lymphedema, supporting venous return in varicose and heavy-leg complaints, relief of fatigue at the end of the day after long standing or sitting, complementing compression garment effects in maintenance therapy, supporting endothelial function and capillary-level microcirculation. General overview of the Power Q-1000 Plus device In this 2:45 minute film I present the basic knowledge of the Power Q-1000 Plus home compression lymphatic massage device. I review the operating principle, treatment programs, correct settings and the basic safety rules. With medical guidance the device can be used for maintenance treatment of lymphedema, varicose complaints, post-thrombosis condition (under medical supervision), reduction of leg swelling and to support aesthetic treatments. What's included in the package? The Power Q-1000 Plus basic package includes the following: 1 pc Power Q-1000 Plus control unit Attention! Treatment cuffs are sold separately and are not included in the base price. Maintenance and cleaning The inner surfaces of the cuffs can be regularly wiped with a damp cloth and disinfectant weekly. The control unit should only be wiped with a dry cloth. Keep the air tubes untwisted and avoid sharply folding them during storage. Compatible accessories and spare parts Multiple 4-chamber cuff types are available for the Q-1000 Plus: arm cuff, trunk cuff, leg cuff, sleeve-protecting stocking and spare air tubes. The full list is in the Lymphatic massage accessories category. Frequently asked questions What is the difference between the Power Q-1000 Plus and the Power Q-2200? Both are 4-chamber home IPC devices, but they differ in functionality. The Power Q-1000 Plus is the simplest entry model in the series — minimal buttons, intuitive operation, designed purely for home use. The Power Q-2200 is a mid-range device with four treatment programs. It is suitable for home use and even for beauty salons. If simplicity is the main criterion and you intend only home use, the Q-1000 Plus is appropriate. What is the difference between the Q-1000 Plus and the Q-1000 Premium? The Q-1000 Plus is entry-level with a simple interface. The Q-1000 Premium is also 4-chamber but adds program memory and fine pressure adjustment. If you want long-term, highly customized IPC protocols (e.g., different settings for different indications), the Premium is useful. If a fixed setting suffices for the classic daily routine, the Plus is adequate. How do I set the appropriate pressure? The recommended range depends on the indication. For lymphedema 30–50 mmHg, for lipedema 30–60 mmHg, for venous complaints 30–40 mmHg, and for sports regeneration 60–100 mmHg. Always agree the exact settings with your treating physician or lymphedema therapist. Start initial sessions at lower pressure and shorter duration, then gradually increase. How many chambers are appropriate for me? For stage 1–2 lymphedema and lipedema, a 4-chamber device (Q-1000 Plus, Q-2200, Q-1000 Premium) is generally sufficient. For more severe stage 3 cases, a 6-chamber device (Q-8060) is recommended, and for stage 4 lipedema or lymphedema clinics the 12-chamber Q-8120 top model is used. Detailed selection guidance is in the Lymphatic massage device – what it does and how to choose guide. What should I do if I experience discomfort during treatment? Reduce the pressure or treatment time and monitor the limb. Mild sensitivity or numbness may occur during the first applications of pneumatic compression — this usually subsides if you start at lower pressure. If discomfort persists (lasting more than 30 minutes after treatment), you experience severe pain or skin discoloration, stop use and consult your treating physician. Can I use it with an acute skin infection or suspected thrombosis? NO. In case of acute skin infection (erysipelas, cellulitis) or suspected deep vein thrombosis, treatment must be suspended and you should seek immediate medical attention. After completion of antibiotic therapy or exclusion of thrombosis, use may be resumed with medical approval.
