doctor Our medical expert says

“The Prosecca band is a mechanical compression device for men: by applying gentle pressure to the urethra it prevents urine dribbling from the moment it is put on. It is important to be clear what it is and what it is not: it is not a therapeutic device, it does not train muscles or produce healing – it physically prevents the dribble. It is particularly useful after prostate surgery: while electrostimulation-based rehabilitation gradually restores muscle strength, Prosecca gives day-to-day security. I write more about the complications of prostate surgery."

Realistic expectation
The effect is immediate but not permanent: the band works only while you wear it. Pelvic floor training or electrostimulation is needed to restore muscle strength – the two together are the most effective approach. Finding the optimal tension may take a few days of trial and error.
This is not the device for you if
you are looking for a permanent cure: the band is a symptomatic device and cannot restore muscle function. It is not sufficient on its own for severe, large-volume urine loss. It is not suitable for women.
Before you order
It is always worth having the cause of the dribbling examined by a urologist, especially if it persists months after surgery. Do not set the band too tight, and remove it immediately if you feel pain, numbness or see skin discolouration. Do not use it if there is skin damage or inflammation.

Who do I recommend it for?

Urine dribbling is common after radical prostatectomy or TURP – rehabilitation can take weeks or months. The Prosecca band provides protection from the moment it is put on during rehabilitation: you do not need to worry while exercising, working, or performing daily activities. It is advisable to carry out electrostimulation therapy in parallel (e.g. PFE for Men) to restore muscle strength.

Prosecca can be worn discreetly while running, walking, cycling or training. Its lightweight, narrow design does not restrict movement while preventing dribbling.

If a few drops escape after urination – a common issue among men known as post-void dribble – the Prosecca band provides a discreet solution: you do not need to use a pad; the band prevents the dribble.

If you have been using incontinence pads, Prosecca is a durable alternative: you buy it once and reuse it many times. In the long run it is more economical than continually purchasing pads – and the mechanical protection is more targeted.

How does the compression band work?

The Prosecca band works on a mechanical principle: the padded surface applies a gentle, even pressure to the urethra and physically prevents urine passage. This is not therapy – it does not train the muscles and does not restore sphincter function.

When to use it? Use it during daily activities when you need protection: at work, during sports, or in social situations. Prosecca treats symptoms – it prevents dribbling.

What it is NOT for? Prosecca does not replace medical treatment or muscle training. The most effective approach: use the Prosecca band for daily protection alongside an electrostimulation device (e.g. PFE for Men or evoStim P) for pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation. As muscle strength improves, the need for Prosecca decreases.

Frequently asked questions

Prosecca treats symptoms: it prevents dribbling while you wear it. It does not train the muscles or restore sphincter function. Long-term improvement requires electrostimulation treatment (e.g. PFE for Men). Prosecca is most effective as an adjunct during rehabilitation.

With correct use, no. Tighten the Velcro only enough to stop the dribbling – it should not cause pain, numbness or discolouration. If you experience any unpleasant symptoms, loosen or remove the band. If you are unsure about proper use, consult your treating physician.

Yes. Prosecca can be worn during running, walking, cycling and exercise. Its lightweight, narrow design does not restrict movement, and the Velcro keeps the band secure.

Night-time use is not recommended – prolonged compression is undesirable. For night use, prefer an incontinence pad. Prosecca is intended for daytime, active use.

No. Prosecca is designed exclusively for the male anatomy. For women, pelvic floor electrostimulation devices are recommended (e.g. Perfect PFE, Kegel Toner).

With proper maintenance (daily washing and drying) it can be used for months. Wear of the Velcro indicates when replacement is needed. It is a more durable solution than continually buying pads.

How to use the Prosecca band?

1

Put the band on

Place the padded part on the underside of the penis along the urethra. The pad should be centred over the urethral line.

2

Tighten the Velcro

Tighten the band until the pressure is noticeable but not painful. The Velcro fastening allows fine adjustment of the pressure. With the correct tension, the dribbling will stop.

3

Wear it during daily activities

Prosecca can be worn while running, walking, sitting or exercising. Its narrow, lightweight design fits discreetly under underwear.

4

Remove before urinating

Open the Velcro before urinating and remove the band. Put it back on after urination. The Velcro enables quick on and off.

5

Cleaning

Wash daily with warm soapy water and dry. The smooth surface is easy to clean. Store in the supplied box.

information Important information

Prosecca is CE-marked, a Class I medical device. It is intended for symptomatic treatment of urine dribbling – it does not replace medical examination and pelvic floor rehabilitation.

In the treatment of male incontinence, mechanical aids can be used as adjuncts to conservative therapy, alongside pelvic floor muscle training and electrostimulation.1

The information on this page is for guidance only. Home therapeutic devices are intended to complement medical treatment, not replace it. Consult your treating physician if you have complaints.
