Who and what is UniGlo good for?
The Uniwand microcurrent treatment head is specifically designed for the face: the eye area (brow lines, under-eye zone), around the mouth (marionette lines), and the forehead (frown lines). Its small size allows targeted application. The gentle microcurrent is not painful on facial skin; most users feel only a slight tingling.
EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) on the abdominal area can help develop muscle tone — it is not a substitute for conventional abdominal exercise but a COMPLEMENT. Combined with classic core exercises (plank, crunches, leg raises) you can get better results. The UniGlo 5×5 cm pads are ideal for this. Detailed explanation is in the Body shaping with muscle stimulation article.
Large muscle groups (thighs, buttocks, arms, calves) are typical EMS target areas. These can be treated with the UniGlo 5×5 cm pads. Regular EMS sessions can contribute to a firmer appearance by improving muscle tone. IMPORTANT: this DOES NOT replace active training — it is a COMPLEMENT. UniGlo is an aid within a comprehensive body-shaping routine.
Between 35 and 50 the skin’s collagen level naturally declines and fine lines appear. UniGlo’s microcurrent facial routine can be a home-based complement to a classic anti-age routine (appropriate sun protection, moisturisers, collagen serums, good sleep, balanced diet). Changes develop cumulatively over several months — do not expect instant results.
After pregnancy, following a 6–12 week pause (and with your gynaecologist’s approval), UniGlo may be applied to the abdominal/core area to gradually restore muscle tone. IMPORTANT: DO NOT use on the abdomen DURING pregnancy. It is forbidden in the first 3 months and also during the last 3–4 months of pregnancy. During breastfeeding do NOT use on the chest area.
Many people prefer home beauty routines — time saving, convenience, control. UniGlo is a device intended for independent home use and fits into evening or morning routines (even while watching TV, before or after makeup). The Uniwand is simple to use and requires no special training. Basics can be learned in 1–2 sessions following the user manual.
UniGlo performs best as part of a comprehensive routine:
- Skincare: regular cleansing, moisturising, retinol serums, sun protection (SPF 30+).
- Lifestyle: good sleep (7–8 hours), balanced diet (antioxidant-rich), adequate hydration.
- Physical activity: regular exercise for an overall firmer appearance.
- UniGlo treatment: Uniwand for facial areas, adhesive pads for larger muscle groups.
A combined approach can produce lasting effects — UniGlo is not the only tool.
IMPORTANT realistic expectations:
- UniGlo is NOT a miracle device — results require cumulative, multi-month use.
- It DOES NOT replace professional cosmetic or dermatological procedures (laser, mesotherapy, deep peels).
- It DOES NOT stop age-related changes — it only supports a firmer appearance.
- Individual response varies by skin type, age and baseline hydration.
- Manufacturer recommends 5 sessions per week for 8–12 weeks for initial course use.
- Long-term maintenance use is required for sustained aesthetic benefit.
Individual response depends on skin type, age and baseline condition.
How do UniGlo’s two technologies work?
UniGlo combines two electrotherapy technologies: EMS (muscle stimulation) for larger body areas and Microcurrent (MCR) for delicate facial zones.
EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) induces muscle contraction by direct electrical stimulation of the muscle — the same mechanism used in classic EMS training devices. Regular EMS sessions:
- Aim to improve muscle tone (passive “exercise-like” stimulation).
- May support local blood circulation in the treated area.
- As part of a comprehensive body-shaping routine can contribute to a firmer appearance.
IMPORTANT: EMS DOES NOT replace active exercise — it is a COMPLEMENT. Detailed explanation is in the EMS article.
Microcurrent (MCR/MENS) operates at VERY LOW current levels (microampere range) — users often barely feel it. This gentle technology suits facial areas:
- It can affect the cells’ electrical environment.
- It may support microcirculation.
- In clinical practice it is used as part of skin rehabilitation and anti-age routines.
Microcurrent devices are traditionally part of cosmetic skincare and physiotherapy toolkits. Detailed information is in the Microcurrent article.
Classic adhesive pads cannot precisely treat the face’s delicate areas — contours, the eye zone and the lip area are too small and sensitive. The Uniwand solves this:
- Ergonomic wand shape, easy to hold.
- Contact-based treatment (not adhesive) — it works only where you glide it.
- Precise targeting along contours.
- No risk of adhesive allergy on the face.
Uniwand is compatible only with the UniGlo device — do not use it with other devices.
UniGlo pairs well with a classic anti-age skincare routine:
- Before microcurrent: apply contact gel or a hydrating serum for conductivity.
- After microcurrent: moisturiser, retinol serum, anti-age mask.
- Morning routine: cleanse → microcurrent → serum → moisturiser → sun protection (SPF 30+).
- Evening routine: remove makeup → cleanse → microcurrent → serum → night cream.
Do not alter specific therapies prescribed by your dermatologist or cosmetician because of UniGlo use.
Expected (with regular, long-term use):
- Firmer appearance in delicate facial areas.
- Improved muscle tone in EMS-treated body areas (when combined with active exercise).
- Contribution as one element of a comprehensive anti-age routine.
Not expected:
- Results equivalent to professional dermatological procedures (botox, fillers, laser, mesotherapy).
- Complete reversal of age-related skin changes.
- Immediate, dramatic change — results develop cumulatively over months.
- Lasting body-shaping results without diet, exercise and sleep.
Realistic expectation = satisfied user. Miracle-expectation = disappointment.
Frequently asked questions
The following rule applies: with a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD) or any implanted electronic device DO NOT use UniGlo on the chest, shoulders or back — electrical treatment may interfere with the implanted device.
From a general safety perspective, users with implanted devices should consult their treating physician before use — the cardiologist/physician will decide based on the device type and treatment area.
NOT on the abdomen, according to the manufacturer:
- Do NOT use on the abdomen during the first 3 months of pregnancy — it is unknown whether EMS/TENS stimulation affects fetal development.
- Do NOT use on the abdomen during the last 3–4 months of pregnancy.
On other body areas (e.g. legs, arms) cautious use during pregnancy may be possible, BUT gynaecological consultation is mandatory in every case.
Two completely different technologies:
- EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation): higher current (milliampere range), induces muscle contraction. Suitable for larger body areas (abdomen, thighs, buttocks) to improve muscle tone.
- Microcurrent (MCR/MENS): very low current (microampere range), usually not felt. For gentle cosmetic treatment on the face.
UniGlo offers both — one device treats both body and face.
According to the manufacturer:
- Facial treatment (Uniwand): minimum 5 times per week for 8–12 weeks in the initial course. Maintenance: 2–3 times weekly.
- Body EMS: 3–5 times weekly, 20–30 minute sessions. Allow 48 hours recovery for the same muscle group.
Change is cumulative — it may be noticeable after 4–6 weeks, and clearer after 8–12 weeks. Individual results vary. Mirror-based monitoring helps track progress.
It should NOT be painful. Microcurrent is very gentle — most users feel only a slight tingling or minimal sensation. If it is painful, reduce the intensity. Mild redness or warmth on the skin after treatment is normal and usually subsides quickly.
If you experience severe discomfort, pain or a skin rash during or after treatment, stop and consult a dermatologist.
No. UniGlo is a home-use cosmetic device and DOES NOT replace professional dermatological or cosmetic procedures (botox, hyaluronic fillers, laser treatments, mesotherapy, chemical peels). Those procedures work via different mechanisms and often produce stronger effects.
UniGlo is one home element of a comprehensive anti-age routine — consult a dermatologist or aesthetic professional if you are seeking professional treatments.
Not by itself. EMS improves muscle tone but is NOT a fat-burning device. Weight loss and fat reduction require a calorie deficit (diet + exercise).
EMS can contribute to a firmer look by improving muscle tone and may indirectly affect resting metabolism — BUT active training and appropriate nutrition are essential. See the Does body shaping with stimulators work article for details.
How to use it step by step
Charge the battery (via USB cable)
Fully charge before first use. The rechargeable battery can be charged from any standard USB charger. A full charge allows multiple sessions.
Prepare the skin (body or face)
Body (EMS): clean the skin — no creams, oils or sweat. Wipe with a skin disinfectant wipe if needed.
Face (Microcurrent, Uniwand): thoroughly remove makeup and cosmetics. Before using the Uniwand apply a thin layer of contact gel or hydrating serum for good conductivity.
Choose the correct electrode or treatment head
The package contains three types of electrodes:
- 4 pcs 5×5 cm: large body areas (abdomen, thighs, buttocks).
- 4 pcs 3×5 cm: larger facial areas, arms, calves.
- 10 pcs 25 mm round: smaller, targeted areas (e.g. around the lips).
- 1 pc Uniwand treatment head: for delicate facial zones (around the eyes, forehead, marionette lines).
Select a programme (8 presets)
Choose the programme that fits your goal from UniGlo’s 8 presets — see the user manual for details. The “Microcurrent deep facial firming” programme is optimised for facial areas. The memory function stores the last used programme for quick restart.
Adjust intensity gradually
Start at a very low intensity. On EMS areas you should feel muscle contraction, but it must NOT be painful. For microcurrent facial treatment a barely perceptible tingling is ideal (microcurrent is gentle — it should not be painful). Increase intensity gradually according to tolerance.
Uniwand technique (face)
Slowly and continuously glide the Uniwand along the treatment area — do not hold it in one spot. Recommended movements:
- Around the eyes: circular or up–down motion under the eye.
- Forehead: bottom-to-top or circular motions.
- Around the mouth: along marionette lines from the mouth corner downwards.
The adjustable timer helps keep track of treatment time. DO NOT pass over the eye itself or directly over the eyeball.
Treatment frequency (manufacturer recommendations)
Manufacturer recommends facial treatment at least 5 times weekly for 8–12 weeks during the initial course. Then maintenance 2–3 times weekly. Body EMS is recommended 3–5 times weekly with 20–30 minute sessions — allow 48 hours recovery for the same muscle group.
Aftercare (skincare)
After treatment apply moisturiser, serum or a specialised anti-age cream on the face — microcurrent can make the skin more receptive to cosmetics. After body EMS rest or do light activity (walk). Do not train the same muscle immediately after EMS — allow recovery.

Important information
UniGlo is a CE-marked medical device intended for home cosmetic use. Its use does not replace a medical or dermatological examination or professional cosmetic/aesthetic treatment. The device is intended as a COMPLEMENTARY tool used alongside a comprehensive skincare and lifestyle routine.
Realistic expectations: individual UniGlo results vary. It does not halt age-related skin changes and does not match the outcomes of professional cosmetic treatments. Meaningful change is expected after an 8–12 week initial course. If you do not see clear change, consider other cosmetic options.
New skin symptoms (rash, persistent redness, pain, itching, blisters): STOP USE IMMEDIATELY and consult a dermatologist. Allergic reaction to electrode pad adhesive is rare but possible.
UniGlo IS NOT a fat-burning device. Weight loss and lasting body shaping require active training and appropriate nutrition. EMS’s muscle-tone effects complement a comprehensive body-shaping routine.
Do not use the device while driving or performing operational tasks. Keep electrode pads clean and replace them in time.
Use only original TensCare accessories. Keep the device out of reach of children.
