Muscle rehabilitation, muscle weakness, regaining lost muscle strength — or neck muscle tension from stress, heavy-leg symptoms? Looking for a simple, affordable EMS muscle stimulator for home that focuses on strengthening and relaxing muscles?

The Rehalito is a German-quality, compact (150 g, 11.7 × 6.6 × 3.3 cm) EMS muscle stimulator that offers exactly that: 5 preprogrammed protocols, 2 independent channels, and a belt clip for wearing. It focuses purely on muscle stimulation — it does not mix sport-targeted EMS, TENS pain relief and beauty functions. Entry-level price, German MTR+ quality.

Why choose the Rehalito?

muscle stimulator

Pure EMS muscle stimulator

Not a TENS pain-relief device, not sport-targeted EMS — specifically designed for muscle rehabilitation and stimulation. Recovery from muscle weakness, regaining lost strength, prevention of muscle cramps, circulation improvement. If you only need muscle stimulation, you won't pay for unnecessary functions.

5 programs

5 programs

Two muscle-strengthening W/R (Work/Rest) programs — high and low intensity — a muscle-relaxing + detox modulated program, HAN pain-relief, and a customizable user program with up to 5 phases. Covers classic muscle-rehabilitation needs.

portable

Compact, portable

150 g, pocket-sized, with belt clip to attach at your waist. Operates from a 9V battery (approx. 12 hours runtime on one battery) — no charging, no mains adapter. Suitable for workplace, office, or travel. Discreet, unobtrusive appearance.

german quality

German MTR+ quality

Manufactured by MTR+ Vertriebs GmbH (Germany) under ISO 13485:2021 quality assurance. CE 0123 Class IIa medical device. Expected service life of 10 years — durable, reliable, and cost-effective long-term solution.

Dr. Zátrok Zsolt
doctor Our medical expert says

"I recommend the Rehalito to those who specifically seek a simple, affordable home device for muscle stimulation — for muscle rehabilitation, strengthening weak muscles, or relieving stress-related muscle tension. The two muscle-stimulation programs — one high and one low intensity — provide a typical protocol for rebuilding muscle after surgery or prolonged inactivity. In the German MTR+ portfolio, the Rehalito and Dolito are a sibling pair: same hardware, different program libraries. Rehalito is EMS-focused, Dolito is TENS-focused. If you need both functions in one device, Myolito is the right choice. For those dealing exclusively with muscle weakness, muscle rehabilitation, or neck-shoulder tension and who do not want complicated menus or a large investment, Rehalito is a particularly favorable entry option."

Is this my problem — is Rehalito right for me?

After knee surgery, shoulder injury, cast immobilization, or any prolonged inactivity, muscles atrophy rapidly. Rehalito Program 2 (low intensity) is ideal for gentle reactivation in the first 10 days, then Program 1 (high intensity) for progressive strengthening. Full course: 8–12 weeks, 20 minutes daily at 15–25 mA. IMPORTANT: only start rehabilitation with approval from your treating physician or physiotherapist.

Sedentary work, screen focus, chronic stress — these lead to persistent tightness in the neck and trapezius muscles. Rehalito Program 3 (Muscle Relaxation + Detox, 8–12 Hz modulated, 30 min) was developed specifically for this: low-frequency stimulation helps "unlock" the muscle from a tense state. Use as part of an evening routine — even while watching TV or reading.

Heavy-leg symptoms commonly result from venous circulation issues, prolonged standing or sitting, or sometimes lymphatic drainage problems. Rehalito Program 3 (Muscle Relaxation + Detox) can support venous return by activating calf and foot muscles and may help restore a pleasant "light legs" feeling. Use while resting in the evening with your legs elevated.

Rehalito Program 1 (W/R high intensity, 50 Hz, 300 µs, 20 min) is a classic muscle-strengthening protocol. Used 2–3 times weekly with gradual intensity increases, measurable changes in muscle tone can appear across 6–8 week cycles. NOT a replacement for heavy weight training or professional Globus Sport Pro devices (Triathlon Pro, Runner Pro, etc.) — rather a complementary, beginner-level tool.

Although Rehalito is EMS-focused, Program 4 (HAN pain relief, alternating 100/2 Hz, 200/350 µs, 30 min) offers a single TENS-like program. Professor Han's Dense-Disperse method is particularly suitable for chronic pain: back pain, neck and lumbar syndromes, arthritic pain, nerve pain. If your primary complaint is pain relief, the Dolito (with 6 TENS programs) is a more targeted device.

Age-related loss of muscle mass (sarcopenia) prevention and slowing is an important health issue. Rehalito's low-intensity strengthening programs (Program 2) can provide gentle but effective activation. Combined with movement and balanced nutrition, it can help preserve muscle mass. IMPORTANT: over 65, always consult your physician or physiotherapist first, especially if you have chronic illnesses.

Rehalito's programmable user mode (Program 5, up to 5 distinct phases) is specifically intended for protocols personalized by a physiotherapist or treating physician. The professional can set frequency, pulse width, and treatment time — then the patient can continue treatment at home according to that protocol. Battery operation and compact size make it ideal for portable-practice use.

Many patients interested in home devices after physiotherapy do not want a large upfront investment. Rehalito's entry-level price-performance ratio targets this customer group: German quality, 10-year service life, classic 5 programs, simple interface. It does not try to be everything — which is its strength: if you only want EMS muscle stimulation, you won't pay for unnecessary functions.

How to use it step by step?

1

Insert the 9V battery

The device runs on a 9V (6LR61 or 6AM6) battery — one battery provides approx. 12+ hours of runtime, which means several weeks of usage with 20–30 minute daily sessions. NO battery charging, no mains adapter — swap the battery and you're ready.

2

Select the program

Choose from 5 programs on the LCD: Program 1 (high muscle strengthening W/R), Program 2 (low muscle strengthening W/R), Program 3 (muscle relaxation MOD), Program 4 (HAN pain relief), or Program 5 (customizable user). The display shows current frequency, pulse width, and remaining time.

3

Attach the 4 pieces of 40×80 mm electrodes

The package includes four 40×80 mm self-adhesive TENS electrodes — larger than Dolito's 40×40 mm electrodes because muscle stimulation requires a bigger surface area. Typically 2 electrodes per channel placed around the targeted muscle group. Skin should be clean and dry — creams, oils, or sweat weaken adhesion.

4

Start + intensity setting (0–80 mA, 1 mA steps)

Intensity is adjustable per channel between 0–80 mA in precise 1 mA steps. Gradually increase until the muscle shows visible contraction (NOT a painful level!). For EMS the correct level is where the muscle visibly contracts but without discomfort.

5

Wear with belt clip or use seated

The 150 g weight and belt clip allow you to use it seated, lying down, or even while walking. During muscle-strengthening (W/R) programs it's advisable to sit calmly — voluntary concentration can augment the muscle contractions. The automatic timer stops at the end of the set time (usually 20–30 minutes).

6

Weekly rotation protocol for long-term results

For muscle strengthening: 2–3 EMS sessions per week, 20 minutes each, 15–25 mA intensity. Full course: 8–12 weeks — gradually increase intensity during this period. Muscles need rest days to recover. For muscle relaxation use anytime, even multiple times daily.

The 5 programs in detail

Rehalito offers 5 programs that precisely cover the main needs of home muscle rehabilitation and stimulation — plus a HAN pain-relief program and a fully customizable user option.

Mode: Work/Rest. Frequency: 50 Hz. Pulse width: 300 µs. Duration: 20 minutes.

Classic muscle-strengthening protocol — active stimulation phases alternating with rest periods. 50 Hz and 300 µs produce strong contractions that can lead to progressive strengthening. Typical use: advanced rehabilitation phase (weeks 4–12), beginner-level muscle mass building.

Mode: Work/Rest. Frequency: 35 Hz. Pulse width: 450 µs. Duration: 20 minutes.

Gentle stimulation program suitable for early-stage atrophy, the first 10 days after surgery, or more sensitive muscle groups. Lower frequency and wider pulse deliver milder but effective activation. Typical use: early post-op rehab, older users, sensitive muscle groups.

Mode: Modulated (MOD). Frequency: 8–12 Hz variable. Duration: 30 minutes.

Low-frequency modulation provides a gentle "relaxing massage" sensation. By improving circulation it can support removal of metabolic products (lactate, edema). Typical uses: relieving stress-related neck and shoulder tension, treating heavy-leg symptoms, post-workout or physical work recovery, evening relaxation.

Mode: HAN (Dense-Disperse). Frequency: alternating 100/2 Hz. Pulse width: 200/350 µs. Duration: 30 minutes.

Although Rehalito is EMS-focused, this program offers TENS-like pain relief. Developed by Professor Han, the method can activate different types of endorphins. Typical uses: arthritis, back/neck/lumbar pain, pain from circulatory disorders, nerve and muscle pain. If pain relief is your main goal, Dolito (6 TENS programs) is a more targeted device.

Program 5 is the real differentiator: the user (or clinician/physiotherapist) can program up to 5 consecutive phases. Each phase can have its own frequency (1–150 Hz), pulse width (50–450 µs), mode (CONT, BURST, MOD, W/R, HAN) and duration. This enables complex, personalized protocols — e.g. warm-up + strengthening + relaxation in a single session. Treatment time is adjustable up to 9 hours 59 minutes for long physiotherapy protocols.

Rehalito offers 5 operation modes to configure Program 5 phases:

  • CONT (Continuous): constant-frequency stimulation, classic TENS-like.
  • BURST: high-frequency groups at low rate, endorphin-activating.
  • MOD (Modulated): varying frequency to prevent accommodation.
  • WORK/REST (W/R): classic rhythm for muscle strengthening.
  • HAN (Dense-Disperse): alternating high and low frequency.

Modes can be combined — e.g. a 30-minute protocol might be 5 min MOD warm-up + 15 min W/R strengthening + 5 min BURST endorphin activation + 5 min MOD relaxation.

Demo and usage video

The video below demonstrates the Rehalito device and general usage.

Rehalito EMS device demo

General presentation of the Rehalito stimulator, overview of the 5 programs, electrode placement on muscle groups, and basic usage.

What’s in the package?

The Rehalito basic kit — all accessories needed to start using it immediately.

  • 1 pc Rehalito EMS device (2-channel)
  • 2 pcs stimulating cables (one per channel)
  • 4 pcs 40×80 mm self-adhesive TENS electrodes (for larger muscle groups)
  • 1 pc 9V battery (6LR61/6AM6)
  • 1 pc Hungarian user manual
  • Belt clip for portable use (on the back of the device)

Self-adhesive electrodes: adhesion gradually decreases after 25–30 uses. Replacements in 40×80 mm size are available separately. After use, place back on the protective film. Tips: apply to clean, hair-free skin and remove by lifting carefully at the corner rather than ripping.

9V battery: approx. 12+ hours runtime. If not used for a long time, remove from the device to avoid leakage. Use only original or quality 6LR61/6AM6 alkaline batteries.

Cleaning the device: wipe externally with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use alcohol to clean electrodes — it damages the adhesive layer.

Rehalito can be complemented with additional accessories:

  • Spare electrode sets: 40×80 mm size for replacement after 25–30 uses.
  • Different electrode sizes: smaller (40×40 mm) electrodes may be more comfortable for sensitive areas (e.g. face, muscles near the neck).
  • Electrode gel: improves adhesion for sensitive skin or prolonged use.

Frequently asked questions

No. A pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD) or any electronic implant is an absolute contraindication. EMS impulses can interfere with implant function and may be life-threatening. If you have such a device, do not use the device under any circumstances — not even on your limbs.

Use of EMS devices is NOT recommended during pregnancy. Treatment of the lower abdomen, abdomen and lumbar area is forbidden throughout pregnancy. If in doubt, consult your obstetrician or midwife. After childbirth, wait for full recovery (usually 6–8 weeks) and start EMS only with gynecologist approval.

The two devices are a sibling pair — same hardware, different focus:

  • Rehalito (010E-201): EMS muscle-stimulator focus. 5 programs: 2 W/R strengthening (high and low) + 1 relaxing + 1 HAN pain relief + 1 user. 40×80 mm electrodes (for larger muscle areas).
  • Dolito (010E-200): TENS pain-relief focus. 6 programs: 4 TENS (continuous, modulated, burst, HAN) + 1 muscle W/R + 1 user. 40×40 mm electrodes (for smaller pain points).

If you want purely muscle stimulation and rehabilitation → Rehalito. If you want purely pain relief → Dolito. If you want both in one device → Myolito.

Hamstring (back of thigh) is one of the most common EMS targets. Placement: place two 40×80 mm electrodes on the posterior thigh (upper third of the glute–knee line, over biceps femoris and semitendinosus), and two just above the popliteal fossa (approx. 5–7 cm). You can treat both legs alternately with the 2 channels, or one at a time. Detailed positioning illustrations are in the Hungarian user manual. If unsure, consult a physiotherapist.

Muscle strengthening and rehabilitation with EMS is a long-term process:

  • First 1–2 weeks: the muscle adapts to stimulation; mild soreness may occur — this is normal.
  • 2–4 weeks: you may notice firmer muscle tone.
  • 4–8 weeks: measurable differences in muscle tone and strength indicators.
  • 8–12 weeks: full treatment cycle; then 2–4 weeks rest before a new cycle.

EMS DOES NOT replace active exercise — it is complementary. It works best combined with regular movement and balanced nutrition.

Depends on the protocol goal:

  • Muscle strengthening (W/R): 2–3 times weekly, 20 minutes/session, with rest days for recovery.
  • Muscle relaxation (MOD): can be used daily as needed, 30 minutes/session.
  • HAN pain relief: 2–3 times daily, 30 minutes/session, as symptoms require.
  • Post-operative rehab: follow your physician or physiotherapist's guidance; typically 1–2 sessions daily, 20–30 minutes.

Never use the device while driving or operating machinery. If new or worsening symptoms occur, consult your treating physician.

It does not replace it — it complements it. Classic weight training provides mechanical load + joint movement + cardiovascular load + neuromuscular coordination. EMS only elicits muscle contraction without joint loading and coordination. This means:

  • EMS as a complement: preserves muscle mass during inactivity or injury, post-op rehab, for older users.
  • Replacement for weight training: No. EMS alone does not produce full functional training results.
  • Optimal combination: 3–4 weekly weight/functional sessions + 1–2 EMS sessions for targeted activation.

Rehalito can complement classic weight training — especially when regular training is not feasible (rehab, advanced age, limited mobility).

information Important information

The Rehalito is a CE-certified, Class IIa medical device (CE 0123, according to MDD 93/42/EEC), suitable for home use. However, its use in no way replaces medical diagnosis, an individualized physiotherapist protocol, or prescribed medication. The device is intended as an adjunct to existing therapy.

If you experience new or worsening symptoms (e.g. persistent pain, numbness, weakness, muscle tightness) always consult your treating physician — EMS should not be used to "mask" symptoms that may indicate more serious disease. The cause of chronic muscle weakness, neurological complaints or fatigue should be clarified by a physician before starting independent EMS treatment.

For post-operative rehabilitation, NEVER start EMS without approval from your physician or physiotherapist. Never place electrodes over a fresh scar. Discontinue treatment immediately if skin irritation develops.

Use only original accessories and replace electrodes regularly (after 25–30 uses). Keep the device out of reach of children.

The information on this page is for general guidance and does not replace individual medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult your treating physician regarding your specific complaints.
