Details

The Power Q-1000 Plus is an easy-to-use compression therapy unit. It is also known as a pressure therapy device or wave massage device. These three terms refer to the same device, with no difference.

The Power Q-1000 Plus is a medical device compliant with strict European quality and safety standards.

Operating principle

The device operates based on a pneumatic compressor, an "air pump."

Cuffs composed of multiple airchambers are connected to the device. The unit inflates and deflates these sequentially, creating a wave-like massaging effect.

It compresses muscles, the vessels within them, and lymph vessels, directing excess fluid toward the heart.

This mechanical effect reduces edema (interstitial fluid), stimulates blood circulation, and refreshes muscles.

Therapeutic areas

The device offers wide application possibilities for treating health issues and in sports and wellness.

Its main application is mild to moderate lymphoedema. Due to simple operation, even elderly or persons unfamiliar with technical devices can use it.

The device is successfully used for arm swelling after breast removal surgery.

It is suitable to alleviate symptoms caused by varicose veins.

Pregnant women benefit particularly as it can safely reduce leg swelling caused by pregnancy-related varicosity.

It also plays an important role in post-thrombosis rehabilitation, although treatment should start at least 3 months after the acute phase.

Preventive and regenerative effects

The Power Q-1000 Plus is not only suitable for treating established problems but also excellent for preventive use.

In paralysis or reduced limb mobility cases, regular use can significantly lower thrombosis risk.

The device effectively supports blood circulation and helps prevent circulatory disorders.

Aesthetic and sports uses

The device is perfect for aesthetic purposes, especially reducing cellulite symptoms.

For athletes, it is beneficial as it significantly speeds post-workout recovery. It aids faster elimination of metabolites and muscle restoration, shortening recovery time.

Recommendation

The Power Q-1000 Plus is a reliable compression therapy unit offering broad application possibilities in health issue treatment and wellness and sports regeneration.

With proper use and adherence to safety guidelines, it effectively treats many circulatory issues and swelling.

Thanks to various sized and typed cuffs, almost every body area can be targeted, making the device a truly personalized solution for diverse health and aesthetic problems.

Cuff range

Accessories can be purchased separately for the device. Various types and sizes of cuffs are available. Choose the appropriate cuff for the body part to be treated.

Arm, leg, and waist cuffs are designed for their respective body parts. Up to three cuffs can be connected to the device and used simultaneously if health permits.

The arm cuff is especially suitable for arm oedema treatment after breast surgery. Leg cuffs are available in lengths reaching up to knee or thigh. Waist cuffs come as belt or pant style for treatment of the upper thigh, hip, and lower abdomen.

Treatment of upper limbs

Lymphoedema on the arm is usually unilateral – one arm cuff is generally sufficient. Athletes may use two arm cuffs to treat both arms simultaneously. Velcro fasteners secure the cuff under the underarm.

Arm cuff

Before purchase, measure your arm at the wrist, forearm, and upper arm under the underarm. Choose M or L size.

PQ-1000 Plus Premium arm cuffs

M–L arm cuff: green line and italic font value=length in cm; red line and bold font value=circumference in cm.

Treatment of lower limbs

First, measure ankle, calf, knee, and thigh. Knee- and thigh-length cuffs (M–L–XL) are available. Zipper extensions are available if needed!

Half-length leg cuff

Knee length, particularly for post-thrombotic syndrome treatment (treatment can begin only 3–4 months after thrombosis). Applicable for edema only up to foot or ankle; longer cuff required for higher edema.

Thigh-length leg cuff

Ideal for lymphoedema, lipedema, varicose complaints, post-thrombotic conditions, and muscle regeneration. Usable singly or in pairs, extendable.

PQ-1000 Plus Premium leg cuff

H=half-length; M–L–XL=thigh length; green line and italic font value=length in cm; red line and bold font value=circumference in cm.

Treatment of torso, hips, and abdomen

Pant and belt cuffs are available for the upper thigh, hips, buttocks, and abdomen. These cuffs are necessary if lymphoedema extends up to the thigh. Also suitable for aesthetic applications such as cellulite and cavitation.

Pant cuff

Fully surrounds the thigh, buttocks, and lower abdomen. Three-row zipper allows wide size selection (small–medium–maximum). Built-in airhose; no additional airhose purchase required.

Belt cuff

Belt-style with velcro fastener. Less effective than pant cuff but less expensive. Suitable for lymphoedema and aesthetic treatments (cellulite).

Waist cuff PQ-1000 Plus Premium

P=pant; M–L=belt cuff; green line and italic font value=length in cm; red line and bold font value=circumference in cm.

Cuff combinations

Sometimes simultaneous use of multiple cuffs is beneficial. Contraindicated in heart failure, heart attack, cardiomyopathy, or untreated high blood pressure.

4 airchamber cuffs overview

Application

Before starting treatment, set the appropriate pressure and duration. Pressure is adjustable between 20 and 300 mmHg, though most treatments require only 40-60 mmHg. Duration can be set between 0 and 30 minutes; begin initial treatments at 20 minutes.

The airchambers inflate in sequence - legs: ankle-calf-knee-thigh; arms: hand-forearm-elbow-upper arm - to optimize circulation improvement.

The airchambers inflate in sequence.

Safety instructions and contraindications

Follow safety instructions carefully. Do not use during acute deep vein thrombosis; external pressure can dislodge clots causing pulmonary embolism. Avoid use with skin infections like erysipelas, as massage can spread infection.

In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-heart attack states, never exceed 40-60 mmHg pressure, and use only one cuff at a time. Cancer patients should consult an oncologist before treatment; avoid direct treatment of active tumors.

Treatment frequency and duration

Frequency and duration must be personalized. Generally, shorter, more frequent treatments (20-30 minutes) are better than rare, longer sessions. Total daily treatment time on the same area should not exceed 120 minutes.

Expected effects

Patience is key - lymphoedema cannot be eliminated with a single treatment. Noticeable improvement typically appears after 5-10 consecutive sessions. Regular use improves blood and lymph circulation, reduces swelling, tension, and pain.

Pressure setting guidelines

Follow your doctor's or therapist's instructions.

General guidelines:

  • Low pressure (40-50 mmHg) is sufficient for circulation improvement; high pressure may be harmful.
  • Start first treatments at 40-50 mmHg for 20 minutes.
  • Monitor and increase pressure if needed, but do not exceed 60 mmHg.
  • Prefer multiple 20-30 minute treatments over a single long session up to 120 minutes daily.
  • Be patient - evaluate changes after 3-4 sessions; avoid adjusting settings at every session.
Diagnosis Pressure (mmHg) Time (minutes) Cuff
Arm lymphoedema 40-60 20-30 Arm
Leg lymphoedema 40-60 20-40 Leg, torso, pant
Lipedema (fat oedema) 50-90 30-40 Leg, pant
Venous insufficiency 40-50 30 Leg, mid-length calf
Heaviness 40-50 30 Leg, mid-length calf
Venous ulcer 40-50 40-60 Calf, mid-calf
Post-thrombosis state 50-60 50-60 Leg, mid-length calf
Post-exercise recovery 80-100 20-30 Leg, pant, arm

Risks of incorrect treatment

Use 40-60 mmHg for supporting lymph and venous circulation. Higher pressure can cause micro-injuries and tissue hardening. Aggressive treatment may worsen condition - avoid high pressure!

In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-heart attack conditions, never exceed 40-50 mmHg pressure, and use only one cuff to prevent circulatory overload. Do not treat active tumors directly, but treating areas distant from tumors, e.g. legs in thyroid cancer patients, is acceptable.
