Details

The Power Q-2200 is a mid-range compression therapy unit. It is also referred to as a pressure therapy unit or wave massage unit. These three terms refer to the same device, with no difference.

The device is primarily designed for home use.

The Power Q-2200 is a medical device that complies with strict European quality and safety regulations.

Operating principle

The device operates on the principle of a pneumatic compressor, an "air pump".

The device connects to cuffs composed of multiple airchambers. The machine inflates and deflates them sequentially, producing a wave-like massaging effect.

It compresses the muscles, the veins inside them, and the lymphatic vessels, directing excess fluid toward the heart.

This mechanical effect reduces edema (fluid between tissues), stimulates blood circulation, and refreshes the muscles.

The device offers multiple modes, allowing customization of pressure levels, inflation patterns, and treatment durations according to individual needs.

Conditions and diseases suitable for treatment

The Power Q-2200 is effectively used for several conditions and diseases, including:

  • Lymphedema: a disorder of the lymphatic system causing fluid buildup and swelling. The device helps reduce swelling by promoting lymph flow.
  • Chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins: improves venous return, alleviating leg heaviness, pain, and swelling associated with vein disorders.
  • Post-mastectomy arm swelling: after breast removal surgery, arm swelling is common due to lymph flow disruption. The Power Q-2200 helps reduce this postoperative edema.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis: aids in managing swelling and improving joint mobility for those affected.
  • Post-surgical hematomas: helps reduce postoperative bruises by enhancing circulation and absorption.
  • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prevention: used prophylactically to prevent blood clots in at-risk patients.
  • Sports recovery: excellent for enhancing muscle regeneration.

Cuff range

The device supports various types and sizes of cuffs available for separate purchase. Choose the cuff enabling targeted treatment of the desired area.

Arm, leg, and waist cuffs each have special designs for effective treatment of specific areas. Up to three four-chamber cuffs can be connected simultaneously.

The arm cuff is particularly useful for treating post-mastectomy arm lymphedema. Leg cuffs come in sizes from below the knee to mid-thigh in various sizes. The waist cuff is available as shorts or belt types, ideal for treating the abdomen and hips.

Upper limbs treatment

Arm lymphedema typically affects one side, so usually, only one arm cuff is needed. For athletic muscle restoration, consider using two arm cuffs to treat both arms simultaneously. The arm cuff has a Velcro strap that fastens under the opposite underarm.

Arm cuff

Before purchase, measure your arm circumference at the wrist, forearm, and under the underarm. Use these measurements to select the correct size. The cuff is available in M and L sizes.

Arm cuff PQ-1000 Plus Premium

M-L arm cuff sizes: the green line and small number indicate length in cm, the red line and bold number indicate circumference in cm.

Lower limbs treatment

Before selecting the cuff, measure the circumference of the lower limb at the ankle, calf, kneecap, and thigh root. The mid-thigh leg cuff is available in M-L sizes; if it doesn't fit, a zip extension is also available.

Mid-thigh leg cuff

This cuff is ideal for treating lower leg lymphedema, varicose veins, and post-thrombosis conditions. Athletes can use it for muscle regeneration. Purchase single or pairs depending on whether one or both legs are affected. If standard sizes are unsuitable, the size can be increased with extensions.

M-L leg cuff sizes: the green line and highlighted number show length in cm, the red line and bold number show circumference in cm.

Trunk and hip-abdomen treatment

For treating the thigh, hip, buttocks, and upper abdomen, select either shorts or belt cuffs.

These cuffs are needed when edema extends to the thigh and trunk requires treatment. They are also used for beauty treatments post cellulite, dimple, and fat reduction.

The shorts cuff offers more effective treatment by fully enclosing the thigh and buttocks. The belt cuff resembles a mini skirt and does not treat the inner thigh and lower buttocks.

Shorts cuff

The shorts cuff provides 360° treatment of the upper thigh, buttock area, and lower abdomen. Ideal for thigh-hip lymphedema treatment. Three rows of zippers allow size adjustment (smallest, middle, largest). Excellent for beauty purposes like cellulite and groove bag treatments. The cuff includes an integrated airhose; no separate airhose required.

Belt cuff

Apply the belt cuff above the mid-thigh level where the leg cuff ends and fasten with Velcro. Less effective than the shorts cuff but more affordable. Suitable for lymphedema and beauty (cellulite) treatments. A separate airhose is required. To choose the correct size, measure the abdomen just below the navel and the hip circumference.

Waist cuff PQ-1000 Plus Premium

P = shorts cuff - M-L belt waist cuff sizes: the green line and highlighted number indicate length in cm; the red line and bold number indicate circumference in cm.

Cuff combinations

Sometimes combining cuffs or using multiple cuffs simultaneously may be necessary.

However, do not use more than one cuff simultaneously in cases of heart failure, post-infarction condition, cardiomyopathy, or uncontrolled high blood pressure.

Application

The Power Q-2200 allows setting of key treatment parameters, making it ideal for mild to moderate lymphedema and varicose veins home maintenance therapy, post-thrombosis condition treatment, and more.

The device supports leg (M-L), arm (M-L), and waist (M-L shorts) cuffs. To choose the right size, see the size chart and measure your circumference!

Up to three cuffs (each with 4 chambers) can be connected simultaneously. Pressure is uniform across all chambers.

The device offers 4 programs (A, B, C, D). B program is gentlest, followed by A, then D, and C is the strongest. Be patient: start with B or A and switch to stronger settings only if necessary. All programs are suitable for muscle regeneration in athletes or post-stroke recovery.

Programs inflate from the bottom up: first the lowest chamber inflates, then the next. Each inflated chamber applies pressure on the underlying tissue, "squeezing out" edema (lymph). Treatment time can be set to 15 or 30 minutes; the device automatically stops when time elapses.

Treatment guide

Follow your doctor's or therapist's instructions.

General guidelines: Compression therapy aims to improve blood and lymph circulation without excessive pressure - too much is harmful. For initial treatments, use A or B program. Set pressure to 40 or 60 mmHg. Start with 15 minutes; observe results and increase up to 30 minutes if needed. Prefer multiple 30-minute sessions rather than rare long ones. Limit daily treatment to 120 minutes. Be patient - allow 3-4 sessions to assess effects; avoid frequent changes.

Device adjustment steps

1. Set treatment time: press the “T” button to select 15 or 30 minutes.

2. Enable/disable airchambers: by default, all chambers inflate. To exclude certain chambers, touch the corresponding leg symbols; lit LEDs indicate active chambers.

3. Set treatment pressure: use “+” and “-” buttons. Selected value appears on display. All active chambers inflate at the same pressure.

4. Select program: choose from 4 intensity programs from gentlest to strongest: B, A, D, C. Program C offers the strongest treatment most quickly but may not suit everyone. Use B without special instructions.

5. 6. Interval settings: in C and D programs, press the interval button repeatedly to set 5, 10, or 30 seconds pause between cycles.

6. START/STOP button: press to start treatment with chosen settings; press again to stop.

Power Q-2200 operation

Risks of incorrect treatment

40-60 mmHg pressure is sufficient to support lymphatic and venous circulation. International medical studies recommend this range. Higher pressure can cause micro-injuries, leading to tissue hardening over time. Excessively strong treatments may worsen the condition - avoid high pressure!

Exercise increased caution with heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-infarction conditions. Never exceed 40-50 mmHg and use only one cuff at a time; multiple cuffs can overload circulation and cause heart problems.

Avoid massaging malignant tumor tissue directly, as it may promote spread. However, treat legs safely in thyroid cancer cases.

Expected results

Regular use of the Power Q-2200 may lead to:

  • Reduced swelling: effectively reduces limb edema.
  • Pain relief: eases discomfort from swelling and venous insufficiency.
  • Improved mobility: enhances joint range of motion by reducing swelling and stiffness.
  • Complication prevention: lowers risk of venous ulcers and thrombosis.

Treatment duration and frequency

The frequency and length of treatment depend on condition and individual factors. Typically, one session lasts 20-60 minutes and may be repeated once or multiple times daily. For best results, regular use over weeks is recommended. Consult a lymph therapist for a personalized plan.

Risks and contraindications

Machine compression therapy is unsuitable in some cases or requires caution and lower pressure.

Contraindications:

    • Severe peripheral arterial disease (PAD): increased pressure may be harmful with significant arterial circulation problems.
    • Severe heart failure: fluid shifts require limited area and lower pressure.
    • Active deep vein thrombosis (DVT): compression may dislodge clots; strictly contraindicated.
    • Acute skin infections (e.g., erysipelas): massage may spread pathogens and worsen inflammation.
