Dr. Zsolt Zátrok
doctor Our medical expert says

“The Champion is the Globus sport line member with the largest selection of programs — for those who need not one but several sport-specific protocols. Coverage of 12 sports is unique in the portfolio: running, swimming, cycling, football, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, volleyball, golf, combat sports, triathlon, sailing, tennis. In total 90 sport-specific, 84 ActionNow and 6 rehabilitation programs are available. I write about the method in the training plan tuned to muscle stimulation. ”

targetRealistic expectations
The Globus Sport line shares the same hardware: Soccer Pro, Cycling Pro, Runner Pro, Triathlon Pro and The Champion differ in the program library, not the electronics. A larger program library does not mean stronger effect, only more options — and more responsibility in choosing. Electrical muscle stimulation complements training work; when using multiple sports in parallel you must watch cumulative load. Correct electrode placement and intensity setting take practice: the first few sessions are learning sessions.
warningThis is not your device if
you practice a single sport only: then a dedicated model on the same hardware is more targeted and economical – Runner Pro for runners, Cycling Pro for cyclists, Soccer Pro for footballers, Triathlon Pro for triathletes.
electrodeBefore you order
The product description contains general guidance on program choice, electrode placement and treatment time. Your ideal personalised protocol can be provided by your coach, physiotherapist or sports physician depending on your preparation cycle. NOT to be used with a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD) or other active implant — only with cardiologist approval. Do not place electrodes on the anterior neck, head, around the eyes or on the temples, and do not conduct current through the chest. Avoid during pregnancy; in cancer, if the treatment area is involved, consult your oncologist first. Do not use electrical muscle stimulation in the acute phase of a fresh muscle or ligament injury.

Who is The Champion for?

Many hobby and amateur athletes do not stick to one sport — running or spinning on weekdays, tennis or golf at weekends, skiing in winter, sailing in summer. The Champion’s 12+ sport-specific program library answers exactly this multisport lifestyle: dedicated warm-up, strength development, endurance and recovery protocols for every discipline. You don’t have to compromise about “which sport-specific device to buy”.

In a gym, training camp or sports team you handle many athletes from different sports. A runner, a tennis player, a footballer and a combat athlete require different muscle profiles and protocols. The Champion’s 12+ sport program library keeps all discipline-specific protocols in one device. The 2+2 mode + Multiuser (10 users) + STIM LOCK functions are built for multi-client practice.

Multisport athletes can suffer many types of injuries: ankle sprain (running, tennis), patellar tendinopathy (cycling, running), shoulder joint inflammation (sailing, golf, combat sports), Achilles tendinopathy (running, skiing), lateral epicondylitis (tennis, golf). The Champion may help across several areas: 12 TENS programs for pain relief, 23 microcurrent programs (the portfolio’s largest) to support inflammatory process modulation, and iontophoresis for targeted anti-inflammatory drug delivery — with a sports physician prescription.

The Champion offers 6 dedicated rehabilitation programs (twice as many as other Sport Pro models): post-knee-surgery recovery, quadriceps atrophy, shoulder wasting. The FES functional stimulation and 18 3S sequential programs are particularly suitable for neurorehabilitation and muscle rebuilding. Use these only with the consent of your treating physician or physiotherapist — never start post‑operative rehabilitation on your own.

12 dedicated TENS programs: pain‑relief TENS, endorphin TENS, modulated TENS, bursitis‑tendinitis (common across many sports), muscle soreness (DOMS, hamstring), chronic pain, chronic low back pain, menstrual pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, knee pain, shoulder pain. A drug‑free alternative that can be used daily if not contraindicated by your treating physician. Always clarify the background of chronic complaints with a sports physician.

3 dedicated incontinence programs (stress, urge, mixed) — available only on The Champion and a few Globus premium models in the Sport Pro line (Runner/Cycling/Soccer Pro do NOT include incontinence protocols). This is a common and often shamefully unspoken issue in athletic women (especially runners and high‑impact sports). For more targeted treatment a pelvic internal probe (PeriProbe or PeriSphera) is recommended — NOT included in the package and sold separately.

The 2+2 mode lets you run a quadriceps session on channels 1–2 while channels 3–4 run another session — even with different sport‑specific protocols. The Multiuser function handles 10 user profiles, and Custom Program (15) plus STIM LOCK let each club member run their coach‑approved protocol. Easily portable in a trainer bag (404 g).

58 fitness/body‑shaping + 60 aesthetics programs are available — The Champion’s aesthetics block is larger (60) than other Sport Pro models (36). IMPORTANT: The Champion does NOT include G‑Pulse microcurrent beauty programs and does NOT include a G‑Trode applicator. If microcurrent facial treatments are important, the Activa 700 (cosmetic‑physio profile with G‑Trode included) is the better choice.

What you can use it for – 300+ programs with a multisport focus

The Champion program library is the most extensive in the Sport Pro line. 90 sport‑specific + 84 ActionNow + 53 general sport + 23 microcurrent + 60 aesthetics + 58 fitness = 350+ programs. Suitable for the multisport athlete, professional coach and demanding amateur competitor.

The unique value of The Champion: a dedicated program package for 12+ sports.

  • Endurance sports: running (road + trail), swimming, cycling, triathlon, cross‑country skiing.
  • Ball sports: football, volleyball, tennis, golf.
  • Winter sports: alpine skiing, cross‑country skiing.
  • Water sports: sailing, swimming.
  • Combat sports: a separate aggregated category covering boxing, MMA, judo, karate, taekwondo.

Within each sport there are programs tailored to different cycles: warm‑up, base (volume + endurance), intensive (strength + power), peak preparation, post‑competition regeneration. Targeted to key muscle groups of the given sport.

TENS (12): pain‑relief TENS, endorphin TENS, modulated TENS, bursitis‑tendinitis, muscle pain, chronic pain, chronic low back pain, menstrual pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, knee pain, shoulder pain.

Microcurrent (23): joint inflammation, tendinitis, lumbago, sciatica, sports injury regeneration, oedema management, collagen production support. The largest microcurrent program library in the Globus portfolio.

Rehabilitation (6 – TWICE the other Sport Pro models!): stress incontinence, urge incontinence, mixed incontinence, post‑knee‑surgery rehab, quadriceps atrophy, shoulder wasting.

Iontophoresis (1): drug delivery for joint injuries (iontophoresis kit sold separately).

General sport (53): aerobic endurance, endurance strength, maximal strength, explosive power, reaction speed, hypertrophy, capillarisation, active regeneration, warm‑up, pre‑ and post‑competition protocols, stiffness relief, motor point pencil.

ActionNow (84 – the portfolio’s richest!): instantly startable programs alongside training exercises – squat + EMS quadriceps, bench press + EMS pectoral, plyometric jump + EMS calf, core training + abdominal EMS, stair climbing + glute activation. Highly useful to support coaching or competition preparation protocols.

The current pulse is time‑shifted across the 4 channels so the muscle contraction travels like a wave across the muscle group — more natural, gentler. Three main applications: neurorehabilitation (muscle re‑education after stroke or paralysis), oedema management (post‑competition or post‑training limb swelling), regeneration enhancement (faster recovery after intense training or competition).

Fitness and body shaping (58): body shaping, bio‑pulse sculpting, toning, contouring, jogging, mass gain, weight‑loss support.

Aesthetics (60 – larger than other Sport Pro’s 36‑block): anti‑cellulite, lipostress, breast toning, post‑pregnancy body recovery, invigorating massage, swelling reduction.

IMPORTANT: The Champion DOES NOT include G‑Pulse microcurrent beauty programs and DOES NOT include a G‑Trode applicator. If cosmetic microcurrent facial treatment is important, Activa 700 is the more suitable choice.

AUTO STIM: automatic intensity reset for the last 10 TENS/EMS programs.

STIM LOCK: program locking — for coach/athlete device lending.

2+2 mode: separate programs on channels 1–2 and 3–4 — two athletes or two muscle groups simultaneously.

Custom Program (15): fully customisable frequency, pulse width, intervals.

Run Time: adjustable treatment time, frequency and pulse duration during a program.

Frequently asked questions

No. A pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD) or any electronic implant is an absolute contraindication — for all current types (TENS, EMS, MENS, FES, iontophoresis). Even very mild microcurrent may disturb implant function. If you have such a device, do not use the device under any circumstances.

Iontophoresis requires more caution than TENS or EMS because you are delivering a pharmacological agent under the skin. Always use under sports‑physician or physiotherapist recommendation — they advise the appropriate agent (e.g. a non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory patch by prescription) and the settings. The iontophoresis kit is NOT included in the package. Do NOT start iontophoresis alone without medical supervision.

The hardware is identical — the same 4‑channel 160×99×35.4 mm device, same 120 mA intensity, 0.3–150 Hz frequency, 50–450 µs pulse width. The difference is the breadth of the program library:

  • The Champion (multisport flagship): 90 sport‑specific programs for 12+ sports + 84 ActionNow + 6 rehab + 60 aesthetics. The Sport Pro line’s richest program library.
  • Runner Pro: 30 programs for runners (road + trail).
  • Cycling Pro: 46 programs for cyclists (road + MTB).
  • Soccer Pro: 32 programs for footballers (outfield + goalkeeper).
  • Triathlon Pro: 60 programs for the swim + bike + run complex.

If you do 1–2 sports → a targeted model is better. If you do 4+ sports or run a coaching practice → The Champion is a more sensible choice despite the higher price.

Both are top models in the Sport Pro line but with different profiles:

  • Triathlon Pro: 60 sport‑specific programs for the swim + bike + run complex. 54 3S sequential programs (the portfolio’s richest!). 3 rehab programs. Optimised for triathlon and multidiscipline sports.
  • The Champion: 90 sport‑specific programs across 12+ sports (the Sport Pro line’s largest sport catalogue). 18 3S sequential programs, but 6 rehab programs (twice as many!). 60 aesthetics programs (Triathlon Pro: 60). Optimised for multisport athletes and professional coaches.

If you are specifically a triathlete or preparing with swim+bike+run → Triathlon Pro. If you do 4+ sports (e.g. tennis + skiing + cycling + golf) or run a coaching practice with diverse clients → The Champion.

These are two models with different focuses:

  • The Champion: pure sport‑focused multisport model. 90 sport‑specific programs, NO G‑Trode applicator, NO G‑Pulse microcurrent beauty program.
  • Activa 700: cosmetician + physio focus. G‑Trode applicator + contact gel included. 13 G‑Pulse facial programs. 21 special sport programs (only running, cross‑country skiing, golf). Fewer microcurrent (12) and 3S (36).

Multisport athlete or professional coach → The Champion. Cosmetician, aesthetician or primary home aesthetics user → Activa 700.

The special sport block contains programs tailored to the following sports:

  1. Running (road + trail)
  2. Swimming (competition distances)
  3. Cycling (road + MTB)
  4. Football (outfield + goalkeeper)
  5. Skiing (alpine)
  6. Cross‑country skiing (Nordic)
  7. Volleyball
  8. Golf
  9. Combat sports (boxing, MMA, judo, karate, taekwondo aggregated)
  10. Triathlon
  11. Sailing
  12. Tennis

The full detailed list is in the Hungarian user manual. Each sport contains multiple cycle‑ and phase‑specific programs.

The Champion is optimised for training camps, as a gym supplement and for personal trainer practice. Steps for use:

  • Create Multiuser profiles: create a profile for each client (max. 10) — this stores Favourites (15 programs/client) and Last10 history.
  • Custom Program tailoring: save 15 custom protocols adapted to the client’s training plan.
  • STIM LOCK locking: when lending the device, only selected protocols can be started — important for safety.
  • 2+2 mode: treat two clients simultaneously (channels 1–2 and 3–4 separated).

IMPORTANT: provide each client with their own electrode set for hygiene — adhesive electrodes are personal hygiene items and must not be shared.

How to use it step by step

1

Log in to your profile (Multiuser)

If used in a club, family or coaching practice, select your profile. From here you can access Favourites (15 programs), Last10 and Custom Program (15) — each user can build a separate treatment plan, even with different sports.

2

Choose the sport and program

Choose from the “Special Sport” menu: running, swimming, cycling, football, skiing, cross‑country skiing, volleyball, golf, combat sports, triathlon, sailing, tennis. Within these: warm‑up, endurance, strength development, sport‑specific muscle protocols, regeneration. Use Last10 to quickly restart your last 10 favourites.

3

Apply electrodes on the 4 channels

The package contains 4 pcs 50×50 mm (for smaller areas) and 4 pcs 50×90 mm (for larger areas) adhesive electrodes. The 4 colour cables are colour‑coded per channel. Use the 2 dedicated cables for microcurrent or iontophoresis treatments. Ideal electrode placement varies by sport — the Hungarian manual includes diagrams for each sport.

4

Start under feedback control

The device automatically detects whether the electrodes have good contact. When connected to the mains charger the treatment cannot be started (for safety) — use from the battery.

5

Intensity (0–120 mA) — with AUTO STIM if required

You can set each channel separately from 0 to 120 mA. If you have used the program before, AUTO STIM restores the last intensity automatically. For a new program increase gradually — higher current allows stronger sport‑EMS muscle contraction.

6

Combine Run Time with 2+2 mode

With Run Time you can modify treatment time, frequency and pulse width during a program. In 2+2 mode you can run two different programs simultaneously (channels 1–2 and 3–4) — useful for treating two athletes in different sports at once.

warning When NOT to use The Champion?

The following situations make electrotherapy potentially dangerous or may cause side effects. If any apply to you, do not start using the device without consultation with your treating physician. The restrictions also apply to iontophoresis and microcurrent functions.

  • Wearing a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD) or any electronic implant — electrical impulses, including microcurrent and iontophoresis, may interfere with their function
  • Pregnancy (especially treatments of the lower abdomen, abdomen and lumbar region are prohibited)
  • Epilepsy or other seizure‑prone neurological disorders
  • Active malignant tumour disease near the treatment area
  • Acute inflammation or infection on the skin area to be treated
  • Deep vein thrombosis or known tendency to thrombosis in the limb to be treated
  • Skin injury, fresh scar, sports abrasion or open wound on the treatment area (avoid until healed)
  • Severe cardiovascular diseases (post‑myocardial infarction phase, severe heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure)
  • Placing electrodes on the anterior neck (carotid sinus region), the skull or over the heart area (unless explicitly approved by your treating physician)
  • Reduced or absent skin sensation on the treatment area (diabetic neuropathy, loss of sensation)
  • Fresh metal implant (screw, plate) loosening or inflammation in the immediate area — consult your treating physician or sports doctor
  • Iontophoresis use: allergy to the agent to be introduced, known side effects, or lack of a physician’s prescription
  • Children for unsupervised use (under 12 only with adult supervision and physiotherapist guidance)

Unsure? Consult your treating physician, sports physician or physiotherapist before use — especially with chronic conditions, medication or any implanted medical device. Detailed information is available in Dr. Zsolt Zátrok’s article on electrotherapy contraindications.

information Important information

The Champion is a CE‑certified, Class IIa medical device (according to MDD 93/42/EEC), suitable for home and sports‑practice use. However, its use does not replace medical diagnosis, sports medical advice, an individual physiotherapist protocol, coaching programme or prescribed drug treatment. The device is an adjunct to existing training plans and therapies.

With a sports injury or new complaint always consult a sports physician or orthopaedic specialist — electrotherapy does not replace investigation and should not be used to “mask” symptoms that may indicate a more serious injury. In multisport athletes, injury typing is complex — the cause of knee pain differs in a runner (runner’s knee), a cyclist (patellofemoral) or a tennis player (lateral instability).

The iontophoresis function requires particular caution — always use with a sports‑physician or physiotherapist prescription and a precise protocol for the agent to be delivered. Do NOT start iontophoresis without medical supervision.

In a coaching practice, before lending the device document the client’s health status (exclude contraindications), and use STIM LOCK to ensure only the approved protocol is available while on loan.

The information on this page is for general guidance only and does not replace individual medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult your treating physician about specific complaints.
