Details

The Power Q-1000 Plus is an easy-to-use compression therapy unit. It is also referred to as a pneumatic therapy unit or wave massage device. These three terms refer to the same device, without any difference.

The Power Q-1000 Plus is a medical device that complies with strict European quality and safety standards.

Operating principle

The device operates based on a pneumatic compressor, essentially an "air pump".

The device connects to cuffs consisting of multiple airchambers. It inflates and deflates them sequentially, creating a wave-like massage effect.

It compresses the muscles, veins, and lymph vessels, directing excess fluid towards the heart.

This mechanical effect reduces edema (tissue fluid), stimulates blood circulation, and revitalizes muscles.

Therapeutic areas

The device offers wide application possibilities for health problems and in sports and wellness fields.

The main application is the treatment of mild to moderate lymphedema. Its simple operation allows elderly or technically inexperienced individuals to use it easily.

The device is successfully used for post-mastectomy arm swelling.

It is suitable for relieving symptoms caused by varicose veins.

Pregnant women can safely use it to reduce leg swelling caused by pregnancy varicose veins.

It also plays an important role in post-thrombosis rehabilitation, although treatment should start only after the acute phase subsides and at least 3 months have passed.

Preventive and regenerative effects

The Power Q-1000 Plus is not only for treating existing problems but is also excellent for preventive use.

In cases of limb paralysis or reduced mobility, regular use can significantly reduce the risk of thrombosis.

The device effectively supports blood circulation and helps prevent circulatory disorders.

Aesthetic and sports applications

The device is also excellent for aesthetic purposes, especially for reducing cellulite symptoms.

For athletes, it offers the advantage of significantly accelerating post-workout recovery. It aids in quicker metabolite elimination and muscle restoration, shortening the recovery period.

Technical data

  • Adjustable cuff pressure: 20-300 mmHg range
  • Adjustable treatment time: 0-30 minutes

Recommendation

The Power Q-1000 Plus is a reliable compression therapy unit offering wide applications in treating health issues as well as wellness and sports regeneration.

With proper use and safety compliance, it effectively treats numerous circulatory problems and swelling.

Thanks to different sizes and types of cuffs, almost every body area can be treated specifically, providing a truly personalized solution for various health and aesthetic problems.

Cuff selection

Accessories are sold separately. Different types and sizes of cuffs are available. Choose the cuff suitable for the body part you want to treat.

Arm, leg, and waist cuffs are designed for their respective body parts. Up to three cuffs can be connected to the device and, if health permits, can be used simultaneously.

The arm cuff is especially suitable for treating post-mastectomy arm edema. Leg cuffs are available in lengths up to the knee or thigh. Waist cuffs come as belt or pant types to treat upper thigh, hip, and lower abdomen.

Upper limb treatment

Lymphedema on the arm is usually unilateral – one arm cuff is usually enough. Athletes can use two arm cuffs to treat both arms simultaneously. Velcro fasteners secure the cuff under the underarm.

Arm cuff

Before purchase, measure your arm at the wrist, forearm, and upper arm under the armpit. Choose size M or L.

PQ-1000 Plus Premium arm cuffs

M–L arm cuff: green line and italic value=length in cm; red line and bold value=circumference in cm.

Lower limb treatment

First measure your ankle, calf, knee, and thigh. Cuffs are available in knee-length and thigh-length (M–L–XL). They can be expanded with a zip extension if needed!

Half-height leg cuff

Knee-length, specifically for post-thrombotic syndrome treatment (treatment should start only 3–4 months after thrombosis). Only for edema up to foot or ankle; higher edema requires long cuff.

Thigh-length leg cuff

Ideal for lymphedema, lipedema, varicose complaints, post-thrombotic conditions, and muscle regeneration. Can be used alone or in pairs, expandable.

PQ-1000 Plus Premium leg cuff

H=half-height; M–L–XL=thigh length; green line and italic value=length in cm; red line and bold value=circumference in cm.

Torso, buttocks, and abdomen treatment

Pant and belt cuffs are available for the upper thigh, hip, buttocks, and abdomen. These cuffs are necessary if the lymphedema reaches the thigh. Suitable also for cosmetic applications like cellulite and cavitation.

Pant cuff

Completely surrounds the thigh, buttocks, and lower abdomen. Available in a wide size range with a three-row zipper (small–medium–maximum). Built-in airhose; no additional airhose purchase needed.

Belt cuff

Belt-shaped with Velcro fastening. Less effective than the pant cuff but cheaper. Suitable for lymphedema and aesthetic treatments (cellulite).

Waist cuffs PQ-1000 Plus Premium

P=pant; M–L=belt cuff; green line and italic value=length in cm; red line and bold value=circumference in cm.

Cuff combinations

Sometimes simultaneous use of several cuffs is advisable. Contraindicated in heart failure, infarction, cardiomyopathy, or untreated hypertension.

4 airchamber cuff overview

Application

Before starting treatment, set the appropriate pressure and duration. Pressure is adjustable between 20 and 300 mmHg, although most treatments require only 40-60 mmHg. Duration can be set between 0 and 30 minutes; start with 20 minutes for initial treatments.

The airchambers inflate sequentially - legs: ankle-calf-knee-thigh; arms: hand-forearm-elbow-upper arm - to optimize circulation improvement.

The airchambers inflate in sequence.

Safety instructions and contraindications

Follow safety instructions carefully. Do not use during acute deep vein thrombosis; external pressure may dislodge clots and cause pulmonary embolism. Avoid use with skin infections like erysipelas, as massage can spread infection.

In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-heart attack states, never exceed 40-60 mmHg and use only one cuff at a time. Cancer patients must consult an oncologist before treatment; avoid treating active tumors directly.

Treatment frequency and duration

Frequency and duration must be individually determined. Generally, shorter, more frequent treatments (20-30 minutes) are better than infrequent prolonged sessions. Total daily treatment time should not exceed 120 minutes on the same area.

Expected effects

Patience is key - lymphedema cannot be eliminated in a single treatment. Noticeable improvement usually occurs after 5-10 consecutive treatments. Regular use improves blood and lymph circulation, reduces swelling, tension, and pain.

Pressure setting guidelines

Follow physician or therapist instructions.

General guidelines:

  • Low pressure (40-50 mmHg) is sufficient to improve circulation; high pressure may be harmful.
  • Begin initial treatments at 40-50 mmHg for 20 minutes.
  • Monitor and increase pressure if needed, but do not exceed 60 mmHg.
  • Prefer multiple 20-30 minute treatments over one long 120-minute session.
  • Be patient - evaluate changes after 3-4 treatments; avoid adjusting settings every session.

Risks of incorrect treatment

Use 40-60 mmHg to support lymphatic and venous circulation. Higher pressure can cause micro-injuries and tissue hardening. Aggressive treatment may worsen condition - avoid high pressure!

In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-infarct states, never exceed 40-50 mmHg and use only one cuff to avoid overloading circulation. Do not treat active tumors directly but feel free to treat areas away from tumors, e.g., legs in thyroid cancer patients.
