Details

The Power Q-1000 Plus is a simple-to-use compression therapy unit. It is also referred to as a pressure therapy unit or wave massage device. These three names refer to the same device, with no difference.

The Power Q-1000 Plus is a medical device that complies with strict European quality and safety standards.

Operating principle

The device operates on the basis of a pneumatic compressor, essentially an "air pump".

Treatment cuffs consisting of multiple airchambers are connected to the device. The device sequentially inflates and deflates these airchambers. This creates a wave-like massage effect.

It compresses muscles, veins, and lymph vessels, directing excess fluid towards the heart.

This mechanical effect reduces edema (fluid between tissues), stimulates blood circulation, and refreshes muscles.

Therapeutic areas

The device offers wide application possibilities for treating health issues as well as in sports and wellness.

Main application is mild to moderate lymphedema. Its simple operation allows even elderly people or those unfamiliar with technical devices to use it.

The device is successfully used for arm swelling after breast removal.

It is suitable for alleviating symptoms caused by varicose veins.

Pregnant women particularly benefit as it can be safely used to reduce leg swelling caused by pregnancy-related varicose veins.

It also plays an important role in post-thrombosis rehabilitation, although treatment should only begin at minimum three months after the acute phase has ended.

Preventive and regenerative effects

The Power Q-1000 Plus is not only suitable for treating existing problems but also excellent for preventive purposes.

In cases of limb paralysis or reduced mobility, regular use can significantly reduce the risk of thrombosis.

The device effectively supports blood circulation and helps prevent circulatory disorders.

Aesthetic and sports applications

The device is also excellent for aesthetic purposes, particularly for reducing cellulite symptoms.

Athletes benefit from faster post-exercise regeneration. The device aids in faster metabolite elimination and muscle recovery, shortening regeneration time.

Technical specifications

  • Adjustable cuff pressure: 20-300 mmHg range
  • Adjustable treatment time: 0-30 minutes

Recommendation

The Power Q-1000 Plus is a reliable compression therapy unit, offering broad applications in both health problem treatment and wellness and sports recovery.

With proper use and adherence to safety instructions, it effectively treats numerous circulatory issues and swelling.

Thanks to various sizes and types of cuffs, almost all body areas can be targeted, providing a truly personalized solution for diverse health and aesthetic concerns.

Cuff selection

Accessories can be purchased separately for the device. Various types and sizes of cuffs are available. Choose the cuff suitable for the body part to be treated.

Arm, leg, and waist cuffs are designed for the respective body parts. Up to three cuffs can be connected to the device and, if health permits, used simultaneously.

The arm cuff is especially suitable for treating arm edema after breast surgery. Leg cuffs are available in lengths up to knee or thigh. Waist cuffs come as belts or pants for treating upper thigh, hip, and lower abdomen.

Upper limb treatment

Lymphedema on the arm is usually unilateral – one arm cuff is usually enough. Athletes can use two arm cuffs to treat both arms simultaneously. Velcro fasteners secure the cuff under the underarm.

Arm cuff

Before purchasing, measure your arm at the wrist, forearm, and upper arm under the armpit. Choose size M or L.

M–L arm cuff: green line and italic values=length in cm; red line and bold values=circumference in cm.

Lower limb treatment

First measure ankle, calf, knee, and thigh. Knee-high and thigh-high cuffs (M–L–XL) are available. Can be extended with zipper inserts if needed!

Knee-high leg cuff

Knee-high, specifically for post-thrombotic syndrome treatment (treatment begins only 3–4 months after thrombosis). Suitable for edema only up to foot or ankle; for higher edema, a long cuff is needed.

Thigh-high leg cuff

Ideal for lymphedema, lipedema, varicose complaints, post-thrombotic conditions, and muscle regeneration. Can be used individually or in pairs, expandable.

Waist, buttocks, and abdomen treatment

Pant and waist cuffs can be chosen for upper thigh, hip, buttocks, and abdomen. These cuffs are necessary if lymphedema extends to the thigh. Also suitable for cosmetic treatments like cellulite and cavitation.

Pant cuff

Completely surrounds thigh, buttocks, and lower abdomen. Three-row zipper offers wide size range (small–medium–maximum). Built-in airhose; no additional airhose purchase required.

Waist cuff

Belt type with Velcro fastener. Less effective than pant cuff but cheaper. Suitable for lymphedema and aesthetic treatments (cellulite).

Cuff combinations

Sometimes simultaneous use of multiple cuffs is advisable. Contraindicated in heart failure, infarction, cardiomyopathy, or untreated high blood pressure.

Overview of 4 airchamber cuffs

Application

Before starting treatment, set the appropriate pressure and duration. Pressure is adjustable between 20 and 300 mmHg, although most treatments require only 40-60 mmHg. Duration can be set between 0 and 30 minutes; start with 20 minutes for initial treatments.

The airchambers inflate sequentially - legs: ankle-calf-knee-thigh; arms: hand-forearm-elbow-upper arm - to optimize circulation improvement.

The airchambers inflate in sequence.

Safety instructions and contraindications

Follow safety instructions carefully. Do not use during acute deep vein thrombosis; external pressure may dislodge clots and cause pulmonary embolism. Avoid use with skin infections like erysipelas, as massage can spread infection.

In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-heart attack states, never exceed 40-60 mmHg and use only one cuff at a time. Cancer patients must consult an oncologist before treatment; avoid treating active tumors directly.

Treatment frequency and duration

Frequency and duration must be individually determined. Generally, shorter, more frequent treatments (20-30 minutes) are better than infrequent prolonged sessions. Total daily treatment time should not exceed 120 minutes on the same area.

Expected effects

Patience is key - lymphedema cannot be eliminated in a single treatment. Noticeable improvement usually occurs after 5-10 consecutive treatments. Regular use improves blood and lymph circulation, reduces swelling, tension, and pain.

Pressure setting guidelines

Follow physician or therapist instructions.

General guidelines:

  • Low pressure (40-50 mmHg) is sufficient to improve circulation; high pressure may be harmful.
  • Begin initial treatments at 40-50 mmHg for 20 minutes.
  • Monitor and increase pressure if needed, but do not exceed 60 mmHg.
  • Prefer multiple 20-30 minute treatments over one long 120-minute session.
  • Be patient - evaluate changes after 3-4 treatments; avoid adjusting settings every session.

Risks of incorrect treatment

Use 40-60 mmHg to support lymphatic and venous circulation. Higher pressure can cause micro-injuries and tissue hardening. Aggressive treatment may worsen condition - avoid high pressure!

In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-infarct states, never exceed 40-50 mmHg and use only one cuff to avoid overloading circulation. Do not treat active tumors directly but feel free to treat areas away from tumors, e.g., legs in thyroid cancer patients.
