Is running your passion? Short, middle or marathon distance? Trail running? Are you troubled by quadriceps–hamstring imbalance, calf stiffness, runner's knee, periostitis, plantar fascia inflammation, or Achilles complaints? You need a device and protocol package optimized for runners.

Runner Pro offers exactly that: 30 specific programs designed for runners, with separate protocols for trail runners. It is a member of the 4-channel Globus Sport device family, targeting and training the runner muscle chain (quadriceps–hamstring–gluteus–calf–Achilles) for both strengthening and regeneration. Plus iontophoresis for sports injuries.

Why choose the Runner Pro?

30 futó-program

30 runner-specific programs

Tailored to the key running muscles: quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus, calves, core stability. Separate protocols for trail runners (ankle proprioception, enhanced calf and stabilizer training). Warm-up, strength development, endurance, regeneration — all optimized for runners.

5 áramtípus

5 current types + Iontophoresis

TENS, EMS/NMES, MENS/MCR microcurrent, FES functional stimulation + iontophoresis. Iontophoresis enables transdermal delivery of active substances to runner-specific injuries (Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, periostitis, etc.) — with a sports medicine prescription.

általános sport

53 general sport programs + 7 ActionNow

The general sport package includes all classic EMS protocols (explosiveness, endurance strength, capillarization). ActionNow programs can be started alongside exercises — e.g., quadriceps EMS during squats, calf activation during plyometric jumps.

23 mikroáram

23 microcurrent + 18 3S sequential

The microcurrent block is the richest in the portfolio: joint inflammation, tendinopathy (Achilles, patellar tendon), muscle tear regeneration, edema treatment, and collagen production support. The 18 3S sequential programs are suitable for neuromuscular re-education and improved regeneration.

Dr. Zátrok Zsolt
orvos Our medical expert says

"I recommend the Runner Pro precisely to those whose sport is running. Whether training competitively, recreationally, for a marathon or ultra, or trail running. The 30 runner-specific programs cover all classic running concerns from quadriceps–hamstring balance and gluteus activation to calf–Achilles regeneration. The Globus Sport hardware is the same across Runner Pro, Cycling Pro, Soccer Pro, Triathlon Pro, and The Champion — only the program library differs."

Who is the Runner Pro recommended for?

The 30 dedicated runner programs cover classic training cycles: base (volume + aerobic endurance, capillarization), intensive (endurance strength + explosiveness), peak (peaking), post-race recovery (active cooldown, lipostress reduction). Separate protocols are tailored for short (fast-twitch), middle (lactate threshold) and marathon (slow-twitch) adaptations.

Runner Pro offers special trail protocols — focused on proprioceptive muscles, ankle stabilizers, gluteus medius and core stability. On steep, hilly or technical sections, these muscles determine joint stability. EMS training, applied alongside classic running training, can support injury prevention.

Classic runner injuries — patellofemoral syndrome (runner's knee), Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, shin pain — often develop from chronic overload. Runner Pro can help on multiple fronts: 12 TENS programs (analgesic, bursitis–tendinitis, knee pain) for pain relief, 23 microcurrent programs to reduce inflammatory processes, and iontophoresis for targeted drug delivery — with a sports medicine prescription.

Three dedicated rehabilitation programs support post-knee surgery recovery, and the 18 3S sequential programs are particularly suitable for neurorehabilitation and restoring quadriceps muscle mass. FES functional stimulation supports muscle re-learning — crucial when the quadriceps has “forgotten” how to activate after prolonged immobilization. Use only after approval from your treating physician or physiotherapist — do not start rehabilitation independently after a recent surgery.

12 dedicated TENS programs: analgesic TENS, endorphin TENS, modulated TENS, bursitis–tendinitis (Achilles, patellar tendon), muscle pain (DOMS, hamstring), chronic lumbago (runner's back), chronic pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, knee pain (runner's knee), shoulder pain. A drug-free alternative that can be used daily if not contraindicated by your physician. Chronic complaints should always be evaluated by a sports doctor.

The 2+2 mode allows different programs on channels 1-2 and 3-4 simultaneously. The Multiuser feature manages 10 user profiles; with Custom Program (15) and STIM LOCK, each club member can run their coach-approved protocol.

In the off-season base period many athletes build general muscle mass for the spring marathon or middle-distance season. The hypertrophy, maximal strength and endurance strength programs in the 4-channel configuration can treat both legs simultaneously. Measurable differences can occur over 6–8 week cycles with 2–3 sessions per week — especially when combined with regular resistance training and balanced nutrition.

58 fitness/body shaping + 36 beauty care + 13 G-Pulse microcurrent cosmetic programs are available. IMPORTANT difference compared to Activa 700: the G-Trode applicator is NOT included in the Runner Pro package — it must be purchased separately if you want to use the G-Pulse facial programs.

How to use it step by step?

1

Log into your profile (Multiuser)

If used in a running club or within a family, choose your profile. From here you can access Favorites (15 programs), Last10 and Custom Program (15) — each runner can have a separate treatment plan.

2

Select the program (road or trail)

Choose from the “Special Sport” menu: road or trail running, then warm-up, endurance strength, explosive power, recovery. Use the Last10 function to quickly restart the last 10 favorites.

3

Apply the electrodes to the runner muscles on the 4 channels

The package includes 4 x 50×50 mm (for smaller areas, e.g., around the Achilles, forearm) and 4 x 50×90 mm (larger areas: thigh, back, hamstring) self-adhesive electrodes. The 4 colored cables are color-coded per channel. For quadriceps training typically place 2-2 electrodes on the upper parts of both thighs + medial–lateral vastus points.

4

Start with feedback control

The device automatically detects electrode contact quality. When connected to mains charger the treatment CANNOT be started (for safety) — operate from battery.

5

Intensity (0–120 mA) — even with AUTO STIM

You can set each channel individually from 0 to 120 mA. If you have used the program before, AUTO STIM automatically restores the last intensity. For a new program, increase gradually — without higher current the serious sport-EMS muscular contraction cannot be achieved.

6

Combine Run Time + 2+2 mode

With the Run Time function you can adjust treatment time, frequency and pulse width during the program. In 2+2 mode you can run two different programs simultaneously (channels 1-2 and 3-4) — for treating two runners at once, or two muscle groups in parallel (e.g., quadriceps + hamstring).

What can you use it for – 250+ programs with runner focus

The Runner Pro program library is tailored to runners. In addition to the 30 dedicated runner programs there are 23 microcurrent, 18 3S sequential, 53 general sport and 12 TENS analgesic protocols — a value device portfolio created for the running audience.

Two branches:

  • Road / flat-surface running: aerobic endurance (marathon preparation), endurance strength (middle- and long-distance tempo work), explosive strength (short distance, sprint, finishing section), reaction speed, capillarization (improving oxygen transport).
  • Trail running: activation of proprioceptive muscles, ankle stabilizers, gluteus medius, core stability, calf strengthening (downhill sections). Separate warm-up, recovery and injury-prevention protocols.

Tailored to the runner muscle profile: quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus maximus + medius, calves (gastrocnemius + soleus), Achilles, core stabilizers.

TENS (12): analgesic TENS, endorphin TENS, modulated TENS, bursitis–tendinitis (Achilles, patellar tendon, IT-band), muscle pain (DOMS, hamstring), chronic pain, chronic lumbago (runner's low back), menstrual pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, knee pain (runner's knee), shoulder pain.

Microcurrent (23): joint inflammation, tendinopathy, lumbago, sciatica, sports injury regeneration, edema treatment, collagen production support. For complementary treatment of runner-typical chronic inflammatory complaints (plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, runner's knee).

Rehabilitation (3): rehab protocols after knee surgeries — ACL, meniscus.

Iontophoresis (1): transdermal drug delivery for joint injuries (iontophoresis kit ordered separately).

General sport (53): aerobic endurance, endurance strength, maximal strength, explosive power, reaction speed, hypertrophy, capillarization, active recovery, warm-up, pre- and post-competition protocols, stiffness release, motor point pencil.

ActionNow (7): programs that can be started instantly alongside exercises — squat + quadriceps EMS, plyometric jump + calf activation, core training + abdominal EMS, stair-climbing + gluteus activation.

The current pulses are time-shifted across the 4 channels so the muscle contraction travels as a wave across the muscle group — more natural and gentle. Three main applications: neurorehabilitation (post-stroke or paralysis muscle re-learning), edema treatment (calf and foot swelling after running or competition), regeneration improvement (faster recovery after intense training or marathon).

Fitness and body shaping (58): body shaping, bio-pulse shaping, toning, contouring, jogging-related toning, mass increase, weight-loss support.

General beauty care (36): anticellulite, lipostress, breast toning, post-pregnancy body recovery, revitalizing massage.

G-Pulse microcurrent beauty (13): designed for the G-Trode applicator. IMPORTANT: the G-Trode applicator is NOT part of the Runner Pro package — order separately if you want to use these 13 programs.

AUTO STIM: automatic intensity restoration for Last 10 TENS/EMS programs.

STIM LOCK: lock programs — for lending by sports doctor/coach to athletes.

2+2 mode: separate programs on channels 1-2 and 3-4 — two runners or two muscle groups simultaneously.

Custom Program (15): fully customizable frequency, pulse width, intervals.

Run Time: adjust treatment time, frequency, pulse duration during the program.

What's in the package?

The Runner Pro base package — everything ready for body treatment immediately. The iontophoresis kit and the G-Trode applicator are ordered separately.

  • 1 pc Runner Pro device (4-channel)
  • 4 pcs colored stimulation cables (for TENS, EMS, FES treatments)
  • 2 pcs EMS cables (for microcurrent and special treatments)
  • 4 pcs 50×50 mm self-adhesive TENS electrodes (for smaller areas)
  • 4 pcs 50×90 mm self-adhesive TENS electrodes (for larger areas, e.g., thigh, hamstring)
  • 1 pc battery charger
  • 1 pc carrying bag
  • 1 pc Hungarian user manual

Self-adhesive electrodes: their adhesion gradually decreases after 25–30 uses. Replacements in 5×5 cm and 5×9 cm sizes are available separately. After use, place them back on the protective foil. Tips: apply to clean, hairless skin, and remove by lifting gently from the corner rather than tearing off.

Battery: 7.2 V, 1.8 Ah Ni-MH rechargeable, included with charger. Typically requires replacement after 3–5 years of use. IMPORTANT: when connected to mains charger the treatment CANNOT be started — for safety. Operate from the battery during treatments.

Device cleaning: wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth inside and out. Cables can be cleaned similarly.

You can unlock the full potential of Runner Pro with the following accessories — all ordered separately in our webshop:

  • Iontophoresis kit: a special sponge electrode and accessories for drug delivery.
  • G-Trode applicator + contact gel: for the 13 G-Pulse microcurrent facial programs.
  • Spare electrode sets: in 5×5 cm and 5×9 cm sizes for replacement after 25–30 uses.

Frequently asked questions

No. Pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD) or any electronic implant is an absolute contraindication — for all current types (TENS, EMS, MENS, FES, iontophoresis). Even very mild microcurrent can interfere with the implant's function. If you have such a device, never use the device under any circumstances.

Iontophoresis requires more caution than TENS or EMS because you are delivering a drug substance under the skin. Always use it based on sports medicine or physiotherapist recommendation — they will advise the appropriate active ingredient (e.g., a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory patch, with a medical prescription) and settings. The iontophoresis kit is NOT included in the package. Do NOT start iontophoresis independently without sports medical supervision.

The hardware is identical — the same 4-channel 160×99×35.4 mm device, the same 120 mA intensity, 0.3–150 Hz frequency, 50–450 µs pulse width. The difference is only in the sport-specific program library:

  • Runner Pro: 30 programs for runners (road + trail).
  • Cycling Pro: 46 programs for cyclists (road + MTB).
  • Soccer Pro: dedicated programs for football players (explosive power, change of direction).
  • Triathlon Pro: 60 programs covering swim + bike + run.
  • The Champion (Multisport): for general multisport use.

If you only run → Runner Pro is the right choice. If you do triathlon or multisport training → choose Triathlon Pro.

The hamstring muscle group is one of the most important for running — and one of the most common sites of muscle strains. Placement: use two large (5×9 cm) electrodes on the posterior surface of the thigh. Place one at the upper third of the glute-to-knee line, over the biceps femoris and semitendinosus, and the other electrode just above the popliteal fossa (approx. 5–7 cm). The second channel can treat the other hamstring simultaneously. Detailed positioning guidance with illustrations is in the Hungarian user manual. If unsure, consult a sports doctor or physiotherapist.

General principles for marathon preparation:

  • 10–12 weeks before: hypertrophy, endurance strength programs (2–3 sessions/week, 25–35 minutes).
  • 4–6 weeks before: combine explosive power + aerobic endurance.
  • 1–2 weeks before: only warm-up and recovery programs.
  • Before race: warm-up program (10–25 minutes) for main running muscles (quadriceps, hamstrings, calves).
  • 0–2 hours after race: active recovery program, 30 minutes.
  • 24–48 hours after: post-race recovery focused on hamstrings and calves.

IMPORTANT: marathon preparation is complex — follow an individualized coach plan.

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common chronic complaints among runners — heel pain on the first steps of the morning radiating from the front of the heel toward the mid-sole. Runner Pro can be a complementary tool in several ways:

  • TENS “bursitis–tendinitis”: for pain relief.
  • Microcurrent (MENS/MCR): reduce inflammatory processes, support collagen production.
  • Iontophoresis: targeted anti-inflammatory drug delivery to the heel area (with sports medicine prescription).

IMPORTANT: plantar fasciitis treatment is complex — change running shoes (proper arch support), stretching (Achilles + plantar fascia), warm-up protocols, possibly physiotherapy and shockwave therapy. Electrotherapy alone does not solve it — always use under sports medical or orthopedic guidance.

Some proven combinations:

  • On hard running session days: DO NOT use EMS hypertrophy or maximal strength programs — the muscle needs to recover.
  • Easy run or rest day: EMS strength development (endurance strength, maximal strength) can be the main session.
  • After a long run: 30–60 minutes later, active recovery program for hamstrings and calves.
  • Weekly rotation: 3–4 runs + 1–2 EMS sessions + 1–2 rest days. Adjust to your coach's plan for marathon prep.
  • In case of injury: if you skip running, Runner Pro hypertrophy and endurance strength programs can temporarily maintain quadriceps tone.

For an exact plan consult a running coach or sports physician.

figyelmeztetés When NOT to use the Runner Pro?

The following situations may make electrotherapy dangerous or cause side effects. If any apply to you, do not start using the device without consulting your physician. The restrictions also apply to iontophoresis and microcurrent functions.

  • Wearing a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator (ICD) or any electronic implant — electrical impulses, including microcurrent and iontophoresis, can interfere with their function
  • Pregnancy (especially treatments on the lower abdomen, abdomen and lumbar regions are prohibited)
  • Epilepsy or other seizure disorders of the nervous system
  • Active malignant tumor near the treatment area
  • Acute inflammation or infection on the skin area to be treated
  • Deep vein thrombosis or known clotting tendency in the limb to be treated
  • Skin injury, fresh scar, running-caused abrasion or open wound on the treatment area (avoid until healed)
  • Severe cardiovascular diseases (post-myocardial infarction phase, severe heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure)
  • Placing electrodes on the anterior neck (carotid sinus region), on the skull, or over the heart area (unless specifically approved by your physician)
  • Reduced or absent skin sensitivity in the treatment area (e.g., neuropathy from diabetes, sensory loss)
  • Fresh metal implant (screw, plate) looseness or inflammation in the immediate area — consult your physician or sports doctor
  • Iontophoresis use: allergy to the substance to be delivered, known adverse reactions, or lack of medical prescription
  • Children for unsupervised use (under 12 only with adult supervision and physiotherapist guidance)

Not sure? Consult your treating physician, sports doctor or physiotherapist before use — especially with chronic diseases, medication use or any implanted medical device. Detailed information can be found in Dr. Zátrok Zsolt's article about electrotherapy contraindications here.

információ Important information

Runner Pro is a CE-certified Class IIa medical device (according to MDD 93/42/EEC), usable both at home and in sports-practice environments. However, its use in no way replaces medical diagnosis, sports medical advice, a qualified physiotherapist's individualized protocol, a coach's program, or prescribed medication. The device is an adjunct tool to be used alongside existing training plans and therapies.

For a sports injury (strain, tendinopathy, runner's knee, Achilles pain) or new complaints always consult a sports doctor or orthopedic specialist — electrotherapy does not replace investigation and should not be used to “mask” symptoms that could indicate a more serious injury. For chronic runner complaints (IT-band, plantar fasciitis, shin splints) identify the cause before regular TENS use — often shoe replacement or training correction solves the issue.

The iontophoresis function requires particular caution — always use with a sports medical or physiotherapist prescription and a precise protocol for the substance to be delivered. Do NOT start iontophoresis independently without sports medical supervision.

The information on this page is for general informational purposes and does not replace individualized medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult your treating physician regarding your specific complaints.
