Details

The Power Q-2200 is a mid-range compression therapy unit, also known as a pneumatic compression device or wave massage unit. All three names refer to the same device with no differences.

It is primarily designed for home use.

The Power Q-2200 is a medical device complying with strict European quality and safety standards.

Treatable conditions

The Power Q-2200 is effective for treating various conditions and diseases, including:

  • Lymphoedema (lymphedema): A lymphatic disorder causing fluid buildup and swelling in tissues. The device helps reduce swelling by stimulating lymphatic flow.
  • Chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins: Improves venous return to alleviate leg heaviness, pain, and swelling associated with venous disorders.
  • Post-mastectomy arm swelling: Common swelling after breast removal surgery due to lymphatic disruption. The Power Q-2200 reduces this postoperative edema.
  • Postoperative hematoma reduction: Helps diminish hematomas by improving circulation and absorption.
  • Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT): Used prophylactically to reduce clot formation risk in patients at risk of DVT.
  • Cellulite treatment
  • Sports recovery: Excellent for enhancing muscle regeneration.

Operating principle

The device operates based on a pneumatic compressor or "air pump".

Cuffs attached to the device have multiple airchambers inflated and deflated sequentially, creating a wave-like massaging effect.

This compresses muscles, blood vessels, and lymphatic vessels, directing excess fluid toward the heart.

This mechanical action reduces edema (tissue fluid), promotes blood circulation, and refreshes muscles.

The device offers several modes, allowing customization of pressure levels, inflation patterns, and treatment times to individual needs.

Cuff selection

Various types and sizes of cuffs are available separately for the device. Choose the cuff that targets the desired treatment area.

Arm, leg, and waist cuffs are specially designed for effective treatment of the respective areas. Up to three four-chamber cuffs can be connected simultaneously.

The arm cuff is especially useful for post-mastectomy arm lymphoedema. The leg cuff comes in sizes from below the knee to mid-thigh. The waist cuff is available as pant cuff or belt cuff, ideal for lower abdomen and hip treatment.

Upper limb treatment

Arm lymphoedema usually affects one side, so typically only one arm cuff is needed. For athletic muscle recovery, consider using two arm cuffs for simultaneous treatment. The arm cuff uses Velcro straps that attach under the opposite underarm.

Arm cuff

Before purchase, measure the arm circumference at the wrist, forearm, and upper arm below the armpit. Choose the appropriate size based on these measurements. The cuff is available in M and L sizes.

M-L arm cuff sizes indicated by green line and small number for length (cm), red line and bold number for circumference (cm).

Lower limb treatment

Before choosing the cuff, measure lower limb circumference at ankle, calf, knee, and upper thigh. The thigh leg cuff is available in M-L sizes; if no fit, zipper extensions are available.

Thigh leg cuff

This cuff is ideal for treating leg lymphoedema, varicose veins, and post-thrombosis conditions. Athletes use it for muscle regeneration. Buy one cuff or pair depending on whether one or both legs are affected. Standard sizes can be extended with accessories.

Trunk and hip-lower abdomen treatment

Choose from pant cuffs or belt cuffs for treating thighs, hips, buttocks, and upper abdomen.

These cuffs are needed when lymphoedema extends to the thigh and trunk. They are also used in beauty treatments such as cellulite and fat reduction after liposuction.

The pant cuff offers full 360° coverage of the upper thigh, buttocks, and lower abdomen for effective treatment. The belt cuff resembles a mini skirt, sparing the inner thigh and lower buttocks.

Pant cuff

Provides 360° treatment on upper thigh, buttocks, and lower abdomen. Ideal for thigh-hip lymphoedema. Three zipper rows allow size adjustment (smallest, middle, largest). Excellent for beauty treatments including cellulite and wrinkle reduction. Includes built-in airhose; no separate airhose required.

Belt cuff

Used where thigh cuff ends (above mid-thigh) and fastened by Velcro. Less effective than pant cuff but more affordable. Suitable for lymphoedema and beauty treatments (cellulite). Belt cuff requires separate airhose. Measure abdomen (just below navel) and hip circumference to select size.

Waist cuff PQ-1000 Plus Premium

P = pant cuff, M-L belt waist cuff sizes indicated by green line and highlighted number for length (cm), red line and bold number for circumference (cm).

Cuff combinations

Some situations require combining multiple cuffs for simultaneous use.

However, do not use more than one cuff simultaneously if you have heart failure, post-infarction state, cardiomyopathy, or uncontrolled hypertension.

Application

The Power Q-2200 allows setting essential treatment parameters, making it ideal for mild to moderate lymphoedema and varicose vein home maintenance therapy, post-thrombosis conditions, and more.

The device supports leg (M-L), arm (M-L), and waist (M-L pant) cuffs. Refer to the size chart and measure circumference to choose the right size!

Up to three cuffs (each with 4 chambers) can be connected simultaneously. Pressure is equal in all chambers.

The device offers 4 programs (A, B, C, D). B is the gentlest, followed by A, then D, and C is the strongest. Start with program B or A, switching to stronger settings only if necessary. All programs can be used for athlete muscle recovery or post-stroke rehabilitation.

Programs inflate from bottom to top: the lowest chamber inflates first, followed by the next. Each inflated chamber applies pressure "squeezing out" edema (lymph). Treatment time can be set to 15 or 30 minutes; the device stops automatically after time expires.

Treatment guide

Follow your doctor or therapist's instructions.

General guidelines: The goal is to improve blood and lymph circulation without excessive pressure, which can be harmful. Use program A or B initially, set pressure to 40 or 60 mmHg, and start with 15 minutes. Observe results and increase to 30 minutes if needed. Multiple shorter sessions are better than rare longer ones. Limit daily treatment to 120 minutes. Be patient; allow 3-4 sessions before evaluating changes; avoid frequent adjustments.

Device setup steps

1. Set treatment time: press the "T" button to select 15 or 30 minutes.

2. Enable/disable airchambers: by default, all chambers inflate. To exclude specific chambers, tap corresponding leg icons; lit LEDs show active chambers.

3. Set treatment pressure: use the "+" and "-" buttons. Selected value shows on display. All active chambers inflate equally.

4. Choose program: select from 4 intensity levels—B (gentlest), A, D, C (strongest). Program C offers the fastest and strongest treatment but may not suit everyone. Use B if no special instructions.

5 & 6. Set intervals: for programs C and D, press the interval button to select 5, 10, or 30 second pauses between cycles.

7. START/STOP button: press to begin treatment with chosen settings; press again to stop.

Risks of incorrect treatment

Supporting lymphatic and venous circulation requires 40-60 mmHg, as recommended by international medical studies. Higher pressures may cause micro-injuries and tissue hardening. Excessively strong treatments can worsen conditions—avoid high pressure!

Patients with heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-infarction conditions should be cautious. Never exceed 40-50 mmHg and use only one cuff at a time; multiple cuffs may overload circulation and cause heart problems.

Avoid direct treatment on malignant tumor tissue as it may promote spread. However, foot treatment is safe in thyroid cancer.

Expected results

Regular use of the Power Q-2200 can lead to:

  • Reduced swelling: effectively decreases limb edema.
  • Pain relief: eases discomfort from swelling and venous insufficiency.
  • Improved mobility: increases joint range of motion by reducing swelling and stiffness.
  • Complication prevention: lowers risk of venous ulcers and thrombosis.

Treatment duration and frequency

Treatment frequency and duration depend on condition and individual factors. Typically, a session lasts 20-60 minutes and can be repeated once or multiple times daily if needed. For best results, regular use over several weeks is recommended. Consult a lymphatic therapist for a personalized plan.

Risks and contraindications

Machine lymphatic massage may be unsuitable in some cases or require caution and lower pressure.

Contraindications:

    • Severe peripheral arterial disease (PAD): Elevated pressure can be harmful with significant arterial circulation issues.
    • Severe heart failure: Fluid shifts require limited area and lower pressure.
    • Active deep vein thrombosis (DVT): Compression may dislodge clots; strictly contraindicated.
    • Acute skin infections (e.g., erysipelas): Massage may spread pathogens and worsen inflammation.
