Genesy 1500: multifunctional electrotherapy device with TENS | EMS | MENS | Denervated | MCR | FES | Kotz | Interferential (IF) | Iontophoresis programs
The device's more than 400 programs can help treat, improve, heal, or prevent countless issues.
The ideal device for physiotherapists and patients for pain relief and rehabilitation treatments.
The device is multifunctional, providing various electrical treatment modes. Each treatment mode addresses different problems.
TENS, or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, is primarily suitable for relieving musculoskeletal pain. It can also reduce menstrual pain and, to a lesser extent, cancer pain.
Electrical muscle stimulation, known as EMS or NMES in medical practice, is for treating muscle-related issues. Key uses include reducing muscle stiffness, muscle atrophy, preventing muscle strength and mass loss, improving circulation, and reducing muscle pain. Used pre-surgery to improve results and as an essential rehabilitation complement afterwards.
FES, or functional stimulation, is often considered a standalone treatment. It is a type of muscle stimulation performed to regain lost abilities.
After central paralysis, muscles partly regain movement after a few days (if lucky) but become weak and clumsy. Muscle stimulation for strength restoration and relearning movement is functional stimulation.
Microcurrent is an extremely mild current (TENS or muscle stimulation currents are about a thousand times stronger).
Microcurrent can be used for pain relief (called MENS, microcurrent nerve stimulation) or healing (called MCR).
Microcurrent accelerates healing of inflammatory processes (e.g., tendinitis, arthritis, arthrosis). It reduces edema and is useful in acute treatment of herniated discs, lumbago, sciatica, and other root symptoms. Speeds healing of injuries, wounds, muscle tears, etc.
Stimulates collagen production aiding wound and scar healing - useful in beauty care for restoring skin elasticity and wrinkle treatment.
Iontophoresis is useful in treating joint inflammations and sports injuries. It enables delivering a (water-soluble, electrically charged) drug directly through the skin to the affected area, bypassing the digestive system. For example, in ankle injury, oral drugs reach the whole body with little effect on the ankle; iontophoresis delivers more to the ankle, less elsewhere.
Stimulation for muscles affected by peripheral paralysis (denervated, lost motor nerve). Triangle, trapezoid, and square waveforms selectable matching nerve damage severity. Severe: triangle; moderate: trapezoid; mild: square.
Denervated muscles cannot be stimulated via motor nerves. Denervated impulses activate muscle fibers directly, so impulses are orders of magnitude longer than EMS pulses. EMS impulses are microseconds; denervated impulses are milliseconds.
Kotz stimulation (aka Russian stimulation) is an electrical muscle stimulation technique developed by Soviet doctor M. Kotz. Used in sports medicine and rehabilitation. Its goal is muscle development, strengthening, and quicker recovery by artificially inducing muscle contractions to improve strength and regeneration.
Interferential therapy (IF therapy) is used mainly for pain relief, anti-inflammatory, muscle rehabilitation, and circulation improvement. It uses two distinct medium-frequency currents meeting in tissue to create a lower frequency therapeutic current and effect. Effective for reaching deep tissues while minimizing skin irritation.

Details
Electrotherapy treatments (TENS, EMS, MENS, FES, ETS, CES, microcurrent, iontophoresis, denervated, selective stimulation, Kotz, interferential, etc.) are safe and side-effect free therapies.
Only a few conditions are contraindications.
Current standpoint: any electrotherapy treatment is FORBIDDEN for patients with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators. Other conditions are not exclusion criteria; benefits and risks should be weighed by the treating physician.
If uncertain about applicability, read Dr. Zsolt Zátrok's article on the "Lifetime Healthy" blog. Click here.
It is commonly thought electrotherapy devices are unsuitable for metal implants, prosthetics, plates, screws. This is outdated. Read Dr. Zsolt Zátrok's article on implants and electrical treatment. Click here.
