Dr. Zátrok Zsolt
orvos Our medical expert says

“The Magnum L is recommended for people who regularly treat a single, well-defined body area and don’t want an overly complicated or expensive device. It’s simple to use. It can run long programs — even up to 9 hours 59 minutes. The included flexible applicator is useful around joints or along long bones. This is the simplest entry model in our magnetic therapy range: one channel, eight factory medical programs, nothing more.”

Realistic expectations
Magnetic therapy works as a course: measurable change is expected after weeks of regular, daily treatment — don’t expect results from a single session. That is why long program time is one of the main advantages: evening or night treatments can be built into daily routine — and daily home treatment is what produces effects. In the home application guide I explain what to expect.
This is not your device if
you plan to treat two body areas at once: for that you need at least a two-output device – the Magnum XL accepts two applicators (although both run the same program), while the Magnum 2500 can run two different programs in 1+1 mode. Aesthetic programs are found in the two XL models.
Before you order
The product description gives general guidance on program choice, treatment time and frequency. Your ideal, individual settings should be provided by the physician or physiotherapist who knows your complaint. Practical note: the device comes with a flexible applicator. If you need another applicator, choose it from the accessories.

When is it a good choice?

The Magnum L is a single-channel device, so it’s most practical for regular treatment of one well-defined area.

The factory package’s two-coil flexible applicator can be wrapped around a joint. For arthrosis or arthritis PEMF can complement exercise therapy, load management and physician‑prescribed treatment.

Knee pain and magnetic therapy →

The two fracture programs are set in the manual at 30 Gauss factory intensity and 8 hours per day treatment time.

The magnetic field can be applied over casts and non‑ferromagnetic fixations. The 2021 manual mentions a 50–60% intensity increase for thick fixations; apply this only as part of a plan agreed with the treating physician.

Magnetic therapy after bone fracture →

The device includes dedicated programs for cervical arthrosis and back pain. The standard applicator can be placed over the painful area, but for extensive spinal complaints a larger applicator or a mat‑type system may be more comfortable.

Low back pain has many causes. If you have numbness, muscle weakness, bladder or bowel dysfunction, fever or recent trauma, a medical assessment is needed first.

The Epicondylitis program is set at 60 Gauss factory intensity with a 30‑minute session time.

PEMF does not replace activity modification, graded strengthening or correction of repetitive movements. With persistent symptoms the diagnosis should be reviewed.

The Magnum L includes an osteoporosis program, but the base package provides only a single 30 × 10 cm local applicator.

That does not mean whole‑body or full‑skeletal coverage. If you need long‑duration treatment of the spine, hip, femur or multiple sites, a larger applicator or a multi‑channel system may be more appropriate.

Osteoporosis and home PEMF →

Is the Magnum L right for you?

May suit you if you treat a single joint, bone segment or local area at a time.
Advantageous if you want a small number of clear factory programs and simple operation.
Suitable for long programs if the applicator can be secured safely and mains operation is acceptable.
Not for you if you want to fully treat two knees or two different problems on separate channels simultaneously.
For large body areas or full‑skeleton treatment a multi‑channel and mat‑compatible system may be more appropriate.
Not ideal if you need a fully freely programmable device: the Magnum L is primarily designed to run the eight factory programs with modified settings.

What can the single output and the factory applicator be used for?

The applicator can be bent around a joint or placed alongside a long bone. Practical for knee, ankle, wrist, elbow and smaller bone segments.

Position the two inner coils opposite and parallel around the joint where possible. The Velcro side should face outwards.

The Pocket Pro is convenient for small areas such as wrist, ankle or elbow. A larger four‑coil flexible applicator is practical for longitudinal coverage of the spine or femur.

Check current accessory compatibility and article numbers before ordering, as manufacturer documents have multiple revisions.

The Y‑cable connects two identical applicators to a single channel. Output power is divided between the two applicators.

This does not turn the Magnum L into a two‑channel device: both applicators run the same program and cannot be set independently.

The four‑coil Soft 4 mattress can be used with a Y‑cable. In that case the single channel’s power is shared among the mattress coils.

Comfortable for lumbar or hip use, but it does not provide the independent treatment capability of multi‑channel systems.

The Magnum L’s eight factory programs

The Magnum L program library is deliberately narrow: it focuses on fractures, several common joint and spinal complaints, osteoporosis and epicondylitis.

What can be modified? According to the 2021 manual, factory program field intensity and duration can be changed, and the modified run can be recalled via Last 10, favourites or the Quick Start function. The Magnum L does not offer the fully independent program creation available on higher models.

MűködésHow does PEMF treatment work?

The coils in the magnetic applicator produce a time‑varying electromagnetic field. This field can be applied through thin clothing, dressings and casts.

Biological exposure is not determined by Gauss value alone. Frequency, duty cycle, treatment time, number of coils, polarity, distance and placement all matter together.

120 Gauss does not mean the device “penetrates” a set number of centimetres. The Magnum L’s real advantage is simple, local treatment and the ability to run long programs.

PEMF clinical results are indication‑ and protocol‑dependent. Investigation of the cause of pain or inflammation, exercise therapy and baseline treatment remain decisive.

Frequently asked questions

The base package includes a single applicator. With the optional Y‑cable you can connect two identical applicators, but they will run the same program and the single channel’s power is shared between them.

Not like the higher Magnum models. Factory programs’ intensity and duration can be modified and recalled, but there’s no full, independently savable program editor.

The device includes an osteoporosis program, but the base package contains a local 30 × 10 cm applicator. For large skeletal areas or multiple sites a larger applicator and often a multi‑channel system are more practical.

Yes, the manufacturer’s manual states fracture programs can be applied over casts and fixations. Adjustments to intensity should be tailored to the fracture site and medical plan.

Long programs can be performed during rest or sleep if the applicator is stably fixed, the unit is placed on a ventilated surface and cables do not present a strangulation or entanglement risk.

The 2021 manual mentions an optional G0699 battery for short mains‑independent operation. Check current availability and compatibility before ordering.

It is not correct to call it completely side‑effect free. The manual rarely reports drowsiness, restlessness, insomnia and nausea, mainly with cervical treatments.

There is no guaranteed time window valid for all indications. Clinical response depends on diagnosis, applicator placement, protocol, consistency of the course and baseline treatment.

How to use it in five steps

1

Choose the correct body area and program

The factory program name is only a guide if the diagnosis is known and matches the treatment goal.

2

Connect the applicator before switching on

Connect the factory or compatible Globus applicator to the device’s single output.

3

Place and secure precisely

The applicator can be placed directly on skin or over thin clothing. Around a joint place the two coils opposite each other where possible.

4

Check intensity and time

Modify factory parameters only on medical or professionally appropriate advice.

5

Do the treatment in a calm setting

For long programs place the central unit on a stable, ventilated surface and route cables so they cannot wrap around the neck or limbs.

What does the standard package contain?

  • 1 pc Magnum L central unit
  • 1 pc 30 × 10 cm flexible magnetic applicator
  • 1 pc 80 × 8 cm Velcro fastening strap
  • 1 pc Power supply
  • 1 pc Carrying bag
  • 1 pc User manual

Fontos tudnivalók Important information

The Magnum L is a home medical device intended as an adjunct treatment. It does not replace diagnosis, monitoring of a fracture or osteoporosis, medication, exercise therapy or other necessary care.

The program name does not prove that the complaint requires PEMF treatment without prior assessment. For unknown‑origin pain, swelling, weakness or worsening condition, a diagnosis is required first.

Manufacturer conformity documents’ current MDR/MDD status should be checked separately in the distribution documentation.

Scientific background

PEMF evidence varies by indication and protocol. In osteoarthritis several reviews found short‑term pain or function improvement; there are also favourable but not universally consistent findings in low back pain, bone healing and osteoporosis. These do not automatically validate every one of the Magnum L’s eight programs as device‑specific.
