What treatments can it be used for?

Mechanism What does 12 W laser treatment mean?

Photobiomodulation delivers light of a specific wavelength and dose to the treated tissue. The biological response depends on wavelength, power, energy dose, spot size, pulse settings and treatment geometry.

12 W maximum power in continuous mode corresponds to 12 Joules per second, or up to 720 Joules per minute. This enables fast dose delivery but requires increased attention to avoid tissue heating and excessive dosing.

The standard 808 nm handpiece operates in the near-infrared range. Optional 980 and 1064 nm handpieces may offer different tissue absorption characteristics, but they should not be simplistically ranked as “deeper” or automatically more effective wavelengths.

The main clinical advantage of higher power is throughput. It does not automatically mean stronger biological effect, faster healing or fewer treatment sessions required for a course.

According to the source the 11 mm optic creates approximately a 0.95 cm² spot and the 22 mm about 3.8 cm². The smaller head is for targeted point treatment; the larger is practical for scanning shoulders, thighs, back or other larger surfaces.
