Details

The Power Q-1000 Premium is a high-performance compression therapy unit. It is also known as a pressure therapy device or wave massage device. These three names refer to the same device, with no difference.
The device is primarily designed for home use but is also suitable for therapists and small clinics.

The Power Q-1000 Premium is a medical device that meets strict European quality and safety standards.

Operating Principle

The operation is based on the so-called pneumatic compressor, a "air pump."

Cuffs consisting of multiple airchambers are connected to the device. The machine inflates and deflates these chambers sequentially, creating a wave-like massage effect.

It compresses the muscles, the veins, and lymph vessels inside them, directing excess fluid toward the heart.

This mechanical effect reduces edema (interstitial fluid), stimulates circulation, and refreshes the muscles.

The device offers various modes, allowing customization of pressure levels, inflation patterns, and treatment times according to individual needs.

What conditions and diseases can it be used to treat?

The Power Q-1000 Premium is effectively used to treat various conditions and diseases, including:

  • Compression therapy for lymphoedema: This is a disease of the lymphatic system resulting in fluid accumulation and swelling. The device helps reduce this swelling by stimulating lymph flow.
  • Chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins: It improves venous return, relieving leg heaviness, pain, and swelling caused by venous disorders.
  • Post-mastectomy arm swelling: Swelling of the arm after breast removal surgery due to lymphatic flow disruption. The Power Q-1000 Premium helps reduce this postoperative edema.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis: The device may assist in managing swelling and improving joint mobility in those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Postoperative hematomas: It helps reduce postoperative hematomas by improving circulation and promoting absorption.
  • Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT): Used prophylactically to prevent blood clot formation in patients at risk of DVT.
  • Sports recovery: Excellent for enhancing muscle regeneration efficiency.

Cuff assortment

Accessories can be purchased separately for the device. Various types and sizes of cuffs are available. Select the cuff suitable for the body part you want to treat.

Arm, leg, and waist cuffs are designed for their respective body parts. Up to three cuffs can be connected to the device and—if the health condition allows—used simultaneously.

The arm cuff is especially suitable for treating arm edema after breast surgery. Leg cuffs are available in lengths reaching the knee or thigh. Waist cuffs come in belt or pant forms for treating the upper thigh, hip, and lower abdomen.

Upper Limb Treatment

Lymphedema on the arm is usually unilateral—typically, a single arm cuff suffices. Athletes may use two arm cuffs to treat both arms simultaneously. The cuffs are secured with Velcro under the underarm.

Arm cuff

Before purchase, measure your arm at the wrist, forearm, and the upper arm below the underarm. Choose size M or L.

PQ-1000 Plus Premium arm cuffs

M–L arm cuff: green line and italicized value=length in cm; red line and bold value=circumference in cm.

Lower Limb Treatment

First measure the ankle, calf, knee, and thigh. Knee-length and thigh-length cuffs (M–L–XL) are available. Zipper extensions can be added if necessary!

Half-height leg cuff

Knee-length, suitable especially for post-thrombotic syndrome treatment (treatment begins 3–4 months after thrombosis). Only applicable for edema reaching foot or ankle; higher edema requires a long cuff.

Thigh-length leg cuff

Ideal for lymphoedema, lipedema, varicose complaints, post-thrombotic conditions, and muscle regeneration. Usable individually or in pairs, expandable.

PQ-1000 Plus Premium leg cuff

H=half-height; M–L–XL=thigh length; green line and italicized value=length in cm; red line and bold value=circumference in cm.

Trunk, Buttocks, and Abdomen Treatment

Pant and waist cuffs are available for the upper thigh, hip, buttocks, and abdomen. These cuffs are necessary if lymphoedema reaches the thigh. Also suitable for cosmetic treatments like cellulite and cavitation.

Pant cuff

Fully encircles the thigh, buttocks, and lower abdomen. Wide size range (small–medium–maximum) provided by triple zipper. Built-in airhose; no additional airhose purchase needed.

Waist cuff

Belt-shaped with Velcro fastening. Less effective than the pant cuff but cheaper. Suitable for lymphoedema and aesthetic treatments (cellulite).

Waist cuffs PQ-1000 Plus Premium

P=pant; M–L=waist cuff; green line and italicized value=length in cm; red line and bold value=circumference in cm.

Cuff Combinations

Sometimes simultaneous use of multiple cuffs is advisable. Contraindicated in heart failure, infarction, cardiomyopathy, or uncontrolled hypertension.

Usage

The Power Q-1000 Premium offers all settings recommended for home maintenance treatment of lymphedema, varicose veins, post-thrombosis, etc. It features 6 programs (A1, A2, B, C, D, E).

Use programs A1–C–E for lymphedema, varicose veins, and post-thrombosis. A1 is mild, C is strong, E is intermediate—start with A1 and only switch if needed. These programs also aid muscle recovery in athletes and post-stroke.

A1, C, and E inflate from bottom to top; A2 inflates top down and should NOT be used for lymphedema or varicose veins. A2 is intended for certain stages of peripheral arterial disease and postoperative microcirculation improvement.

The inflated chamber applies pressure to underlying tissues to expel fluid. The menu is user-friendly, allowing you to save settings so you only need to press start next time. Individual chamber pressure control ensures effective leg-lymphedema treatment.

Treatment time is adjustable from 5 to 99 minutes; the device stops automatically when time is up.

Treatment Guidelines

Follow your doctor or therapist’s instructions. General guidelines:

  • Begin with program A1.
  • Set pressure so the lowest chamber has the highest pressure, decreasing upward (e.g., 60-50-50-40 mmHg).
  • Hold pressure 13–15 sec per chamber for one cycle per minute.
  • Start with 20 min, then increase to 30 min if needed. Maximum daily total: 120 min.
  • Be patient—changes are measurable after 3–4 treatments.

Risks of Incorrect Use

Do not exceed 60 mmHg to avoid microinjuries and tissue hardening. In heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-infarct, use no more than 40–50 mmHg and only one cuff at a time.

Avoid treating active tumors; you may safely treat legs if tumors are elsewhere.

Expected Results

  • Reduced swelling: Decreases limb edema.
  • Pain relief: Alleviates discomfort from edema and venous issues.
  • Improved mobility: Increases joint range of motion.
  • Complication prevention: Reduces risk of venous ulcers and DVT.

Frequency and Duration

Treatments last 20–60 min and can be repeated daily as needed. Regular use over several weeks yields best results. Consult a lymphedema therapist for a personalized plan.

Contraindications

Do not use in:

  • Severe peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
  • Severe heart failure
  • Active deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Acute skin infections (e.g., erysipelas)

Use with caution in:

  • Post extensive lymph node removal (e.g., Wertheim operation)—only under specialist supervision.
  • Leg swelling from abdominal tumors—only on oncologist’s advice.
  • Heart conditions—use lower pressure (40–50 mmHg) and one cuff at a time to reduce cardiac load.
