Reduce arm lymphoedema

Arm lymphoedema is an immediate or late side effect of treatment for breast cancer (in most cases)

In breast tumour removal surgery, it is common for regional lymph nodes and lymphatic vessels to be removed along with diseased tissue. Radiotherapy treatment is then given to the area. The radioactive rays cause inflammation in the treated lymph nodes and lymph vessels.

The lymphedema affecting the arm appears immediately after treatment in some cases. However, in most cases, swelling of the arm begins 1-3 years after treatment, which is explained by the fact that scarring from surgery and radiotherapy grows slowly and the scar obstructs lymphatic circulation over time. Rarely, but sometimes, lymphoedema of the arm may not appear until 10-15 years later. 

The "normal" side effect of breast cancer treatment is the development of lymphoedema. Obviously, only treatment of the tumour can lead to saving the patient's life. However, it is my experience that a significant proportion of patients are not informed of the expected consequences and are therefore not prepared to deal with them.

The lymphatic massage machine with the attached arm cuff effectively helps the blood and lymphatic system of the arm to function properly. 1. Device. There are several models to choose from.
2. Cuff. An arm cuff is required to treat the arm. Attention! Choose the right size! Since in the vast majority of cases, only one arm is affected, a single cuff is sufficient.
3. Air hose.The air hose connects the device to the hand cuff.
