DETAILS

The AMI Pro is a non-invasive neuromuscular electrostimulation system (NMES). It has been developed taking into account the guidelines of the main scientific evidence currently available in the scientific literature.

The AMI Pro includes different stimulation programs for the treatment of motor, sensorimotor and sensory swallowing dysfunction, proposed with different parameters to allow the selection of the most appropriate work cycle.

It also has different facial habilitation programs and modifiable programs to adapt to the therapeutic needs of the practitioner.

The Ami Pro has a special "Action Now" function that allows stimulation only when the practitioner or patient wishes. By pushing the "Action Now" button on the device, muscle activation can be coordinated with the patient's voluntary swallowing, making it a biofeedback system in every sense.

INDICATIONS

It is indicated for treatments on the neck and front of the face. It can be used for the prevention of swallowing atrophy and rehabilitation of the muscles involved in swallowing, in the treatment of dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing) of any aetiology, except for mechanical causes which may require surgery (for example, obstructive (obstructing) tumours).

Some causes of dysphagia for which it may be used include: neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, respiratory diseases with swallowing complications, iatrogenic disorders, radiation fibrosis/stenosis, stroke, intubation or anoxia related to birth, head or neck trauma.

The intended use of the device is to re-educate (retrain) the muscles involved in swallowing using two-phase, symmetrical and square-wave electrostimulation applied by surface electrodes.

The device should be used only by authorised medical or health care personnel (physiotherapists, speech therapists). Home use should be under the instruction and guidance of a physician.

PROGRAMS

Dysphagia 1

3 programs: parameters are fixed and cannot be changed.

Dysphagia 2

36 programs: with fixed and non-adjustable parameters, divided into different types of work cycles (work/rest time ratio).

Dysphagia 3

5 programs: the Dysphagia 3 area includes the Action Now programs. These programs are characterised by the fact that each contraction is started only when the user holds down the * key. The ACTION NOW programs are particularly useful because they can associate and synchronise electrical stimulation with a voluntary action.

Adjustable

36 programs: programs with adjustable parameters: work cycle (ratio of work time to rest time), treatment duration (30-45-60 minutes), pulse width, frequency and total duration.

Face treatment

20 programs: the list of face programs is divided into 20 in total (Standard, Advanced, Action Now).
