Details

The Power Q-1000 Premium is an advanced compression therapy unit, also known as a pressure therapy or wave massage device. These three terms refer to the same device, with no differences.
The unit is primarily designed for home use but is also suitable for therapists and small clinics.

The Power Q-1000 Premium is a medical device that complies with strict European quality and safety standards.

Operating Principle

The device operates based on a pneumatic compressor, essentially an "air pump".

The unit connects to cuffs composed of multiple airchambers. The device inflates and deflates these sequentially, creating a wave-like massaging effect.

It compresses the muscles, veins, and lymph vessels, directing excess fluid towards the heart.

This mechanical effect reduces edema (fluid between tissues), stimulates blood circulation, and refreshes muscles.

The device offers various modes, allowing customization of pressure levels, inflation patterns, and treatment durations according to individual needs.

Conditions and Diseases It Can Treat

The Power Q-1000 Premium is effective for various conditions and diseases, including:

  • Lymphedema: A disorder of the lymphatic system leading to fluid accumulation and swelling. The device helps reduce swelling by promoting lymphatic flow.
  • Chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins: Improves venous return, alleviating leg heaviness, pain, and swelling associated with venous disorders.
  • Post-mastectomy arm swelling: Arm swelling after breast removal surgery due to lymphatic flow disruption. Helps reduce postoperative edema.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis: Assists in swelling management and improves joint mobility in affected patients.
  • Postoperative hematomas: Helps reduce hematomas after surgery by improving circulation and absorption.
  • Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT): Used prophylactically to prevent blood clots in patients at risk.
  • Sports recovery: Excellent for enhancing muscle regeneration.

Cuff Options

The device offers various types and sizes of cuffs, which must be purchased separately. Choose the cuff that allows targeted treatment of your specific area.

Arm cuffs, leg cuffs, and trunk cuffs each feature a special design for effective treatment of the respective area.

You can connect up to three 4-chamber cuffs to the device simultaneously.

The arm cuff is especially useful for treating arm lymphedema commonly occurring after breast surgery.

The leg cuff is available in various sizes, with both below-knee and thigh-length versions.

The trunk cuff comes as pants or a belt, ideal for treating the abdomen and hip areas.

Upper Limb Treatment

Arm lymphedema is usually unilateral, so a single arm cuff may suffice.

If you’re an athlete using the device for muscle recovery, consider purchasing two arm cuffs to treat both arms simultaneously.

The arm cuff secures under the opposite armpit with a Velcro strap.

Arm Cuff

Before purchase, measure the circumference of your arm at the wrist, forearm, and under the armpit to select the correct size.

The arm cuff is available in sizes M and L.

Arm cuff sizes

M–L selectable arm cuff sizes • Green line and italic number: length in cm • Red line and bold number: circumference in cm

Lower Limb Treatment

Before selecting a cuff, measure circumference at the ankle, calf, patella, and thigh. Use these measurements to choose the right size.

There are two types of leg cuffs: below-knee or thigh-length. The thigh-length cuff comes in M, L, XL sizes. If the size is not suitable, extension zippers are available.

Below-Knee Leg Cuff

This knee-length cuff is designed for post-thrombotic syndrome treatment. It can be used 3–4 months after thrombosis to manage residual symptoms. It is only suitable for lymphedema extending to the foot or ankle; for higher edema, the long cuff is needed.

Thigh-Length Leg Cuff

This cuff is excellent for treating leg lymphedema, varicose veins, and post-thrombotic conditions, as well as for sports recovery. Depending on whether one or both legs are affected, you can purchase a single cuff or a pair. If standard sizes don’t fit, extensions can increase the size.

Use this when lymphedema extends to the thigh; in such cases, trunk treatment is also required. The cuff is worn like a belt starting where the top of the thigh cuff sits. It is also used for cellulite treatment, although pants cuffs are more effective.

Trunk and Hip Treatment

For treating the upper thigh, hip, buttocks, and abdomen, choose between pants or a belt-type cuff.

These cuffs are necessary when lymphedema extends to the thigh, as trunk treatment must accompany leg treatment.

They are also used in beauty care for cellulite reduction and post-cavitation fat removal.

The pants cuff provides effective, fully circular treatment of the upper thigh, buttocks, and lower abdomen.

It is ideal for thigh-hip lymphedema. It features three zipper rows for adjustable sizing (smallest–middle–maximum).

Excellent for beauty treatments, especially cellulite reduction and post-cavitation care.

The pants cuff has a built-in air seal, so no separate tube is needed.

Pants Cuff

The pants cuff provides effective, full-circle treatment of the upper thigh, buttocks, and lower abdomen. It is ideal for thigh-hip lymphedema. It features three zippers to adjust fit across a wide range.

Belt Cuff

The belt cuff is worn starting at the top of the thigh cuff and secured with Velcro. It is less effective than the pants cuff but more affordable.

Suitable for lymphedema and beauty treatments such as cellulite reduction. A separate air tube is required.

Before purchase, measure circumference at the abdomen (one palm below the navel) and hips to select the proper size.

Waist cuff sizes

P= pants cuff • M-L belt cuff sizes • Green line and italic number: length in cm • Red line and bold number: circumference in cm

Cuff Combinations

In some cases, combining cuffs (using multiple cuffs simultaneously) may be necessary. These combinations are contraindicated in heart failure, post-heart attack, cardiomyopathy, or uncontrolled hypertension.

Trunk and Leg Cuffs

Used for lymph- and fat-edema (lymphedema & lipedema) and cosmetic treatments (cellulite, cavitation enhancement). This combination is more affordable but slightly less effective than the next one.

Pants and Leg Cuffs

Optimal for cosmetic treatments (cellulite, post-cavitation) and thigh-hip lymphedema or lipedema.

4-chamber cuff options

Usage

The Power Q-1000 Premium provides all settings medically recommended for home maintenance treatment of lymphedema, varicose veins, and post-thrombotic conditions.

The device has 6 programs (A1–A2–B–C–D–E).

Programs

Use programs A1, C, and E for lymphedema, varicose veins, and post-thrombotic treatment.

A1 is the mildest, C is the strongest, and E is intermediate. Start with A1 and only switch if results are insufficient.

Programs A1, C, and E can also improve muscle recovery in athletes and post-stroke patients.

Programs A1–C–E work bottom-up: the lower chamber inflates first, then the next.

Program A2 is reversed (top-down) and should never be used for lymphedema or varicose veins. It is recommended for certain peripheral arterial disease stages and post-surgical conditions to improve microcirculation.

The inflated chamber pressure compresses underlying tissues, “squeezing out” edema (lymph).

The menu system is easy to use. You can save settings so next time you only need to press “start.”

It is especially important that chamber pressures are individually adjustable for optimal leg lymphedema treatment.

Treatment time can be set from 5 to 99 minutes. The device stops when the time elapses.

Treatment Guidelines

Follow your physician’s or therapist’s instructions.

General guidelines:

The goal is to improve blood and lymph circulation without excessive pressure; high pressure is not advisable.

Begin initial sessions with program A1.

Set pressures so the lowest chamber has the highest pressure, decreasing upward (e.g., 60–50–50–40 mmHg). Studies show this achieves the best results in leg lymphedema.

Maintain each pressure for 13–15 seconds, allowing one full cycle per minute. Longer hold times provide more effective lymphedema treatment.

Start with a 20-minute session.

Monitor treatment effects and increase to 30 minutes if needed. It’s better to have multiple 30-minute sessions than infrequent long ones. Total daily treatment should not exceed 120 minutes.

Be patient. Effects should be evaluated after 3–4 sessions; avoid changing settings every treatment.

Risks of Improper Use

Applying 30–60 mmHg is sufficient for lymph and venous circulation. International studies recommend this range.

Higher pressures can cause micro-injuries, potentially hardening edematous tissue and worsening the condition. Avoid aggressive, high-pressure treatments.

Patients with heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or post-heart attack need extra caution: never exceed 40–50 mmHg and use only one cuff at a time to avoid cardiac overload.

Avoid treating tumor tissue directly, as it may promote spread. However, you may safely treat the legs in thyroid cancer cases.

Expected Results

  • Reduced swelling: Effectively diminishes limb edema.
  • Pain relief: Alleviates discomfort from swelling and venous insufficiency.
  • Improved mobility: Increases joint range by reducing swelling and stiffness.
  • Complication prevention: Lowers risk of venous ulcers and DVT.

Recommended Usage Duration

Frequency and duration depend on condition and individual factors. Sessions typically last 20–60 minutes and can be repeated daily if needed. For optimal results, use regularly for several weeks. Consult a lymph therapist for a personalized plan.

Contraindications and Precautions

Machine lymphatic massage is not suitable in certain cases or requires caution and lower pressure in others.

Contraindications:

  • Severe peripheral arterial disease (PAD): High pressures may be harmful.
  • Severe heart failure: Fluid shifts may be dangerous; treatments should be limited and with caution.
  • Active DVT: Compression may dislodge clots; absolutely contraindicated.
  • Acute skin infections (e.g., erysipelas): Massage may spread pathogens and worsen inflammation.

Use with caution:

  • Post-lymphadenectomy edema (e.g., after Wertheim surgery) requires specialist supervision.
  • Tumor-related abdominal swelling only under oncologist guidance.
  • Cardiac conditions and hypertension despite treatment require extra caution: use only one cuff at lower pressures (40–50 mmHg), and prolong sessions rather than increase pressure.
