ActionNOW programmes
ActionNOW programmes provide the opportunity to combine electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) with voluntary movements.
Read more...The ActionNOW range of Globus sports stimulators offers a special way to combine electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) with voluntary movements.
It offers a highly effective training method to improve fitness, performance and rehabilitation.
How can EMS be combined with voluntary movement?
Synchronized exercise: Using EMS equipment, a voluntary muscle contraction (such as a squat or arm flexion) can be performed simultaneously with electrical stimulation. The electrical impulses increase the neural activity in the muscle groups while the movement is performed consciously.
Targeting muscle groups: EMS helps to activate muscle fibers more intensely, especially in muscles that are also used during voluntary movement. Targeted exercise therefore works the muscles more than using just one technique alone.
Training variations: Different exercises can be combined, such as static (isometric) exercises like the plank or dynamic movements like the lunge, during which EMS increases muscle activity.
The effect of the combination:
Enhanced muscle activation:EMS stimulates fast-contracting muscle fibres, which are particularly important for developing explosiveness, strength and speed.
Stimulation in combination with voluntary movement activates muscle fibres more effectively than either method alone.Increase muscle strength and mass: Exercise reinforced with electrical stimulation produces greater muscle tension, which helps to increase muscle strength faster. This training method can be effective for athletes who want to increase muscle strength or muscle mass by targeting a specific muscle or muscle group.
Improved coordination and nerve-muscle connectivity:Combined training improves the quality of nerve-muscle connections because communication between the brain and muscles is strengthened by stimulating both natural and external stimuli to the muscles.
Faster results:Because EMS activates muscle fibres more efficiently and provides continuous stimulation during movement, athletes can make faster progress compared to traditional exercise.
Rehabilitation and recovery:When recovering from injury, combining EMS with voluntary movements can help reactivate weakened muscles while minimizing stress on joints.
This combined method can therefore not only make athletes' training more effective, but also play an important role in the rehabilitation process.
